Dreamers!!!

2016 was good to my Students in many ways! Many not only got their dreams, but had things happen that were way beyond their dreams! Below is a list is some very specific, cool things that have happened to them & some thoughts from parents at how my studio has made a difference in the actors' lives:

Hayden Crawford

For Hayden, 2016 has been amazing. He signed with an L.A. agency (CESD) which came through one of Cathryn's seminars with

Mitchell Gossett & Melissa Berger. He then landed a fantastic recurring role as "DOOLEY" in "Nicky, Ricky, Dickey & Dawn" on Nickelodeon for eight episodes. Hayden ended the year by being cast as Vic, a supporting lead in the Disney Feature Film "Magic Camp" starring Jeffrey Tambor, Adam Devine, & Gillian Jacobs. It's currently filming in LA & of course- Cathy did a great job in coaching Hayden for the Director session which landed him that role in "Magic Camp"!

says Theresa Crawford (Hayden's mom).

Below is Hayden on the NICKELODEON set!

This past weekend was so fun! BRYCE GHIESAR's movie (Pictured below with me, Cathryn) where he plays a lead in "A DOG'S PURPOSE" was spectacular & his performance was utterly amazing! There was a Premiere of the movie in McKinney where Bryce & his family live part-time (because they also live in L.A. part time). So many of his Middle School Master Class (some of them pictured below) were there to support him. It was such a fun, heart-warming experience for all of us. Bryce is one of my heaviest hitters this year with another movie coming out later this year called "Wonder" with Julia Roberts & Jacob Trembley and he is also a regular on his second season of Disney XD's show "Walk the Prank".

Bryce Ghiesar & Cathryn Sullivan at the Premiere of "A Dog's Purpose"

Middle School Master Group supporting Bryce at his Home Town Premiere

I love this group pictured above. Pictured above is Jude Manley (who lives in Tyler), Blaze Freeman, Kamden Beauchamp, Matt McCann (who is here for just a weekbefore he goes back to filming "Man with a Plan", a T.V. series he is a regular on where he plays the son of Matt LeBlanc on the CBS TV show- See more about Matt below), ME, Tres Allison (who comes from San Antonio), Claire Capek & Liv Haynes.

Jonny Gallegos

It was a great year for Premiere Student/Aide Jonny Gallegos. He bookedanother episode on "Queen of the South" on USA Network, AND an episode of "The Leftovers" on HBO Season 3 episode 2 which will air this Spring 2017. Jonny just booked a great part as a famous Indian in an Epic History Channel show where he gets to play a fun Indian character! He taped that in his apartment with Stephen Dinh as his reader. Also, this year- Jonny has booked aMountain Dew commercial,Mountain Dew voice over & a Mary Kay PSAindustrial onabuse where he got to play an abusive boyfriend

.He also is on the short list from two L.A. agents who are watching him.

Kiera Strauss

Cathy,

Kiera has always expressed a dream to go to New York. That dream became a reality because of her first large role as Young Missy in the award-winning T.V. mini-series "ROOTS" which aired Memorial Day 2016. She was invited to the premiere in NYC in May 2016. I have also dreamed of visiting New York and it happened as a result of my daughter and her passion for acting, which started at Cathy's studio.Kiera also had a dream to be in a feature film. She recently completed filming the feature film "The Reliant" during the month of Oct. 2016 in Ohio. She was able to work with veteran actors that have contributed to her professional growth.

As a result of these achievements,Kiera also attained an L.A. agent & manager during 2016.

Ken Strauss

Mack White

MACK WHITE of "Carter High" just booked a play that will be touring the country. It's called "The Silent Cries of the Good Women" where he plays one of the leads, Joshua. He plays an NBA star who gets traded back to his hometown where he is trying to settle down with his childhood crush, but she struggles with commitment and has trust issues.Rehearsals are in Washington D.C. & then, they will be touring all over the country.

Mohana Krishnanbooked a series regular role in a new upcoming comedy TV series. She is filming that series in Florida right now!

Mohana Krishnan

Cassandra Lyle (from my Adult Class!!!) just booked a role on "Murder Made Me Famous". She did a self-tape in her apartment with Jay Scarborough helping her as her reader, another actress from the adult class & Cassandra booked it like THAT!? Amazing, right?! #Proud

KatRowland

I waslucky enough to be able to travel from San Antonio to Dallas to train and work hard all year. Luckily, it paid off and I am now signed with Mitchell Gossett at C.E.S.D.Not only that, but I have made the decision to move to Dallas to be closer to the studio at the end of the school year so I can work towards my goal of moving to L.A to pursue my dream of acting. I Can't wait to see what 2017 brings!

Kat Rowland(Kat still lives in San Antonio right now and she drives over 4 hours to class each week).

Abigail Achiri

Hi hi! Happy New Year :)
My dream was realized and solidified after Rich Delia's comments at the seminar. I've never believed more in my craft and potential to actually make it in this industry then in that moment. I always knew I was good, but after the seminar with Rich, I believe I can be great :)
Abigail Achiri(Abigail is an A & M student who drives at least 4 hours to and from the college for her Premiere Class each week on Saturdays)

Amber Alvarez

I wanted to send a message about progress I made this year that is largely due to everything you do for your students! I was cleaning my closet out recently and I found a picture I had taken of the warehouse I used to live in with my dad when I was just a film student. I literally used to rip out the last page of your "bookings" list on the Newsletters, and thumbtack it on the wall. I even ripped out a copy of the "Innovative Artists" logo from a Variety magazine and put it on my wall because that was my dream LA agency. And I had Terry's "Photography Junkie" card on the wall because it had pictures of people who were Aides and in the Premiere class. It kept me motivated.

2016 was a big year. It was the first year I saw myself on network television for a role I booked on "American Crime". And by the end of the year, I got interest from Innovative Artists Agency and was invited to my first Premiere session. I'm lucky enough to get to start shadowing as an aide this next session, too. I'm beyond blessed and excited!
None of it would have happened if you didn't help us see the line between having a dream and putting in the work to have it achieved. Like I've heard you say, it doesn't happen over night. It happens over time. You are the best! You inspire me to dream even bigger.

Love,
Amber Álvarez

Shelby Surdam

Wow, 2016 what a year of growth for me. I'm glad of the person I am walking into 2017.

At the studio, Mrs.Cathryn teaches us so much more, you don't just learn about acting. You learn about yourself. She leads by example, especially of what a strong, bright, and confident woman is supposed to be.

At the end of 2015, I signed with the Kim Dawson Agency so 2016 was full of exciting experiences. I booked two PSA's. One of which was a Mary Kay PSA that got a lot of buzz on social media platforms. I can't wait for what 2017 has in store and what experiences await. (I checked into her PSA and saw that it had over 517,000 views and over 5205 Shares on Facebook. Her boyfriend in the video is played by Premiere Student/Aide Jonny Gallegos who is also in this newsletter). Check it out. Doesn't it seem real?! Copy & Paste:https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=Mary%20Kay%20News%20dating%20abuse

- Shelby Surdam(Shelby lives over 3 hours from the studio & comes to class each week after making that drive up and back).

As I was looking for Shelby's PSA, I came across another one with two of my girls (Morgan Calhoun & Lucy Bandoh) who are in THIS P.S.A. about dating abuse:

The pop up image on this video is of

Premiere Student,Morgan Calhoun

Paulina Chavez

Happy New Year Cathy! I've made some progress in 2016, I booked Rooster Teeth's Day 5 episode 3 (Which Cody coached me on) I was also the lead of a short film Zinnia, for SaySi, and most recent, I did a Spanish VO for the Spurs Team Up Challenge. I'm currently a NM2 student, my goal is to become a master student in 2017, so that will prepare me to go out and gain more experience:) Yes! I got signed with CESD and also Pastorini Bosby in Houston & I filmed a commercial this past weekend as well!

Paulina Chavez(of San Antonio, Texas. She also has her mom drive her at least 6 hours one way to come to class).

One day, I had seen Maren Alford playing drums on Facebook & I'd been watching Liv & Gigi Haynesdoing the same thing, but only singing and playing guitars. They were all in Middle School Master class, so I asked them if they'd get together & Play music for our industry guests that were coming in November & December. That was in October. Since then, they have played for TWO groups of industry guests tailoring the songs to please the guests themselvesnaming themselves "NOT UR GIRLFRIENZ". They booked a SAG commercial as a

band together. They are coming out in a magazine where they are being featured AND they are being approached by labels! WOW! This is an example of working hard & then, when things hit-they sometime go really fast! Hang on, girls! Looks like a crazy, fun ride is coming your way!

Here is a clip of them performing for the Mitchell Gossett Seminar:

Alex Alford

Cathy, regarding your question about realizing dreams and/or making strides in your acting career...both of my kids were thrilled to have gained representation with CESD early in 2016, so they were able to be considered for A-list projects last year, which was VERY exciting for them. Although they have many dreams yet to realize, they felt they made progress towards their goals -- both in their skills through continued class work, as well as professionally through the new doors that opened up for them. Each class, each seminar, and each audition brings them closer and better prepares them for the things to come! And Alex certainly realized one of his dreams by producing an award-winning film that took our family from one coast to the other attending film festivals and awards shows! What an incredible year he had, with the success of his film, the strides he made in his acting, and to end the year with the wonderful kudos he got from Mitchell at the seminar was really the icing on the cake.

None of this may be newsletter worthy, considering many of the professional strides and awesome, high-profile bookings of other students, but it was a great year of growth for

Maren Alford

Alex and Maren and we can't wait to see what's to come in 2017! We are so blessed to be a part of this acting family!Oh! And Maren booked that cool commercial right at the end of 2016 for Reliant Energy...AND formed an amazing all-girl band with Liv and Gigi, NOT UR GIRLFRENZ, who not only impressed the industry guests from L.A. (twice) but are now getting attention on the local music scene and are preparing for their first professional gig next week!!!
And we have you to thank for all this, Cathy! I Cannot thank you enough for how you have changed my kids' lives - not just last year, but every year!

❤Laura Alford

Jaden Roberts

"Owlegories" sold to Amazon and is now an Amazon Prime series! I've recorded 18 episodes of Owlegories plus a Christmas special and four songs. After all of my struggles with my speech when I was younger, working in Voiceover is definitely a dream come true!

Alex

Alex Yonks

Hi Cathy!
I love that you're doing this - always coming up with new ways to inspire your students.

❤I was hired to work on The Big Bang Theory two months after I graduated college - a very BIG dream of mine. It's a show I grew up watching with my family and it was always a dream to work on a show that means so much to me. Not since working at the studio have I experienced such a happy, loving and supportive work environment. I didn't know it could exist in LA, but it does. The people I work with are my heroes and I am appreciative every day for truly the dream of dream jobs for me right now. XOXOXO Alex Yonks

Sean-Michael Pigeon

Oh my gosh, Cathy! Sean-Michael Pigeon got accepted at Yale because of YOU! He wrote one of three essays on you as his coach, and how the studio is a family he belongs to and a community that works together to make each other the "best of the best". Yale has a great acting program and in his interview they told him they want him to be a part of it. He sent an essay on you and the studio to Princeton and Stanford as well!

There was the film short -"Bad for the Boats" where he improv'd with the producer his lines and they worked them into the script.

He had such a good time with the producer, Ben Lear, that Ben contacted Sean-Michael about his next project as well. Looking forward to 2017!!!!
Thank you for all you do for each and every one of your students. Your passion is so evident and the results are extraordinary!
Cynthia Pigeon

Sienna Hernendez

Hi Cathy,
2016 was a great growth year for Sienna!! Some of her highlights were:
-Lead in an "unscripted" pilot for Nickelodeon (airing in Spring 2017)
-singing with Gene Simmons (of KISS) (her relationship with Gene actually began last year, and she impressed his crew so much, that they brought her back this year!) -2 industrials (FedEx & YMCA) -numerous modeling jobs
We can't wait to see what she does in 2017! Thank you for your continued dedication to our kids!
Fondly, Holly for Sienna Hernandez

Ariana Vail

Ariana Vail obtained her first LA-based job last year on the T.V. show "THIS IS US". Not only was it a dream-come-true, but it also had a great impact on her and her outlook about her career. As a mom, it was fantastic to see her in her element. The professionalism, work ethic, all those things that she's been learning at Acting for Film!

Stacey Vail

Trevor Allison

Hi Cathy!
Just wanted to share a couple of things...
Trevor always wanted to follow in his big brother, Tres' footsteps and be in commercials, etc. He was lucky enough in 2016 to book twonational commercials in the same week! One was for Subway, and one for Nationwide Insurance. He was thrilled!
2015 was definitely Tres' biggest year, with 5th Grader and Jimmy Fallon, but he's gotten close to a few big things in 2016 and is definitely still chasing his dreams!
As you know, Tres got an LA manager, Bryan Leder from attending your seminar. This has been a great experience for us. For example, Dee Ann had submitted Tres for a roll in a television series of one of Tres' favorite books (the Lemony Snickets books), and Bryan was able to get Tres a live audition for the roll in LA! We flew out and back just for that, and while we were there, Bryan submitted Tres for a Disney show (MTX, now called Mech X-4) and gave him the script about 2 hours before the audition was scheduled!

Tres Allison

Through Tres' experience at your studio, he is used to learning scripts quickly, so he went for it and had a great audition. We flew back to SA, and then we found out he got a call back for that Disney show audition that same week! Sooooo we went back... and guess who he got to audition for in the call back... Howard Meltzer!! It was such great fun for Tres to be in front of Howard again. He felt relaxed and comfortable with him since he had met him a couple of times in your seminars!
On another trip to LA, Tres was lucky enough to get asked to audition in front of the Producers for a TV pilot (Andiland). It was an amazing experience!! That's something that doesn't happen everyday!
Even though he didn't book these, he had the confidence to go for it, not only because it's his dream, but also thanks to your classes and what he's learned at your studio.

This business is cyclical and can be feast or famine. Tres knows that and understands, and is determined to continue to chase his dreams, keep auditioning and sending in self tapes, because he loves it so much!
Leslie Allison

Also, Cole Whitaker has had some crazy, wild things happen to him. When he decided to try his hand at a seminar at the studio, he was approached by TWO agents wanting to sign him. He just booked a small part on a huge, very popular T.V. series and is filming it this week. We will be able to tell you more once it airs.

Ella Schupp got her very first commercial this year.In fact, she got TWO! One was for Direct Energy and Wells Fargo
Dir

Ella Schupp

ect Energy was her first.

She was the lead with some very tough lines.

Haley Drake signed with the Campbell agency.

Haley Drake

Kate Gonzalez got signed w Kim Dawson agency.(There were 8-10 more students who got signed with Kim Dawson agency as well!)

Kate Gonzalez

Colton Machado signed with The Clutts Agency and landed two jobs last year.

Thomas Mann

Thomas Mann is probably one of my biggest stars right now! He works all of the time! In 2016, he filmedthe blockbuster "Kong:Skull Island" in Hawaii, Australia & Vietnam for about six months. That shoot took him to Hawaii, Australia & Vietnam! How cool is THAT?! Thomas was in his first Broadway Play... well, technicallyoffbroadway in the lead role of Neil, opposite Jason Sudeikis in "Dead Poet's Society".

His movie "Brain on Fire" opposite Chloe Grace Moretz (He played her boyfriend) premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in 2016 and should be in theaters sometime in 2017.

He also has Academy Award Nominated Director Andrew Haigh's movie "Lean on Pete" coming out sometime in 2017.

He is currently filming as the lead in two episodes of the Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning series "Fargo". He has another project coming up called "The Land of Steady Habits". Here is the info on that:http://deadline.com/2017/01/ben-mendelsohn-edie-falco-thomas-man-nicole-holofcener-the-land-of-steady-habits-likely-story-netflix-anthony-bregman-1201889606/

He was also named in Hollywood Reporters "Next Gen Talent 2016".

Logan Miller

Logan Miller is playing a bully in "A Dogs Purpose". He was WAY too good. After seeing it this weekend, I texted him and said "I really hated you! LOL". He is in "The Walking Dead" series this season as well. He has another film coming out that is goingto Sundance called "Before I Fall". He just got a movie that he starts filming in February called "Simon VS the Homosapien Agenda".

Here is an adorable picture of Logan at Sundance that was posted on Variety's Instagram this week!

Matthew McCann

Matthew McCann's show on CBS, "Man with a Plan" WON the People's Choice Award for best new Comedy last month!!! Congrats Matthew!!!He & his family came back to support his middle school master buddy Bryce Ghiesar this weekend. You can see him in the pictures above! He bops back to L.A. next week to continue filming!

Christina Burdette

Hi Cathryn,
The pilot Christina booked and shot in November, "Heathers" has been picked up. She has a recurring role, so it's pretty cool!!
Also the trailer for her Indy Film "Color Me You" was just released as well. She plays one of the leads.
Take care,
Sarah Burdette

Cody Linley

Cody Linley booked a lead in "Sharknado 4" in 2016 & it aired in the summer to a big audience! The PR for that movie took him to Comicon San Diego which was a blast & to Las Vegas! Not a bad gig! LOL.

Bryce Cass

Bryce Cass booked a pilot "Cruel Intentions" just two weeks after going out to pilot season in 2016 & also, booked a recurring role on "Night Shift' where he almost got buried alive.... (Well, pretended he was, anyway).

Robert Hayes

Cathy, I've booked a role in a feature film based on the true story of former Ole Miss defensive back #38 Chucky Mullins. I'm set to the play the role of Derrick King, Chucky Mullins' roommate and Ole Miss linebacker. The film is set to hit theaters in the fall of 2017. I'm also set to be apart of Southwest Airlines advertisements including magazines, billboards, etc. that should be released in the next coming months. I chose to step out of my comfort zone and move to Atlanta in order to be closer to tons of film/television projects. Since I've lived in Texas for most of my life, the thought of permanently transitioning to a different state was kind of scary. The film industry in Atlanta has been growing at a tremendous rate, so I felt relocating in Atlanta was the most ideal decision. So far, the move has proven to be well worth it.Now I'm able to connect with local casting directors on a personal level instead of having to resort to creating self-tapes for auditions."

Thank ya Cathy love you!
Robert Hayes

Caleb

Caleb Pierce has been almost a staple on the T.V. show "The Real O'Neals". His character is hilarious! I have laughed out loud several times while watching him on that show.

Hayley orrantia

Hayley Orrantia

Also, Premiere Student Hayley Orrantia is on her third season of "The Goldbergs" which has won many awards includinga People's choice award and T.V. Critics awards. She is so funny in this, so it was reallywonderful to see her play in the drama "God's not Dead 2". She also has been flying back and forth to Nashville where she is writing music and working on her music.

And Logan Henderson is making a comeback. The one-time "Big Time Rush" boy band member was an aide, but also a master teacher at the studio coming back even to teach one Christmas. Logan has a new music video that I think is KILLER!!! I was so excited when I saw this! I even bought both versions of his song on I-Tunes! Check it out! I love it!

http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/7669766/logan-henderson-sleepwalker-video-premiere

And one more that I thought was interesting. It was from a Mom on my Facebook page who's son was in the program for three years. I liked what she had to say:

It was from Kimberly Faith Hall Church who wrote:

"From a mom's perspective, I've seen people come into the studio and after a year, they leave because their child hasn't booked that "star" role yet. Are they blind?! Let me tell you what your child gets at the studio, in addition to film training:

1.Confidence

2. How topresent themselves

3. How to govern their emotions in real life.

4. How to speak in front of a crowd.

5. How to deal with judgement.

6. Growth takes time...Time is a great equalizer...If you rise and grind each day, over time, you will grow in your craft until it becomes muscle memory.

7. How to impress adults with your poise.

8. Enunciation

9. Intonation

My son was with Cathy for 3 years, and in that time, booked several commercial and print jobs, but the best thing we got were compliments from non-industry folks: his teachers, coaches, state science fair judges. They all oohed and awed at his poise and ability to command a presentation. As an educator for 13 years, I can tell you these are skills that most high schoolers and college students LACK, and at 10 years old, my kid was banking in character earnings, crafted at this studio.

Our dream? Our son learned skills he can take with him to prepare for, impress and rock ANY interview, including scholarship interviews that he starting winning big $$$$ for at just 12 years old, all thanks to the team at Cathryn Sullivan's Acting For Film"

What a wonderful 2016 for my actors!!!

***CLASS SCHEDULE***

This program is a building block process where each level builds on each other to make a whole, complete working actor with no holes. Each level needs to be taken in order. Film 2 and Film 3 is the only series that can be taken out oforder.

FILM 1

This is the starting class in our program that helps with learning how to be real and believable for the camera, how to make the transition between stage and camera work, learning how to be directable simulating real on-set experiences. The teacher for this class comes in from Austin and is always a weekend intensive. Ages 10-27

Feb 17-19 Feb 17 5-7pm Feb 18 9am-1pm & Feb 19 9am-1p

Also offered:March 24-26 March 24 5-7pm, March 25 9am-1 March 26 9-1pm

10-11 hours $349.Ben Sullivan- instructor

FILM 2

Depth of Character and learning to use your real emotions in your scenes is the concentration during this series. You will learn how to go deep with each character & develop different relationships with each character you have in the scene. You will learn how to cry on cue, (something I didn't learn until age 28) & things you need to know on how to nail a horror flick audition. The main scene will be done on a real on-set location setting with camera & lights and played back for both student & parent to watch.

5-7pm on Thursday nights beginning February 23, March 2, March 9,

March 23, March 30, April 13 & April 27th. Seven classes

14 hours $379. Cathryn Sullivan-instructor

FILM 3

This is a cold-reading class. A student can end up having a cold-reading at an audition even though an actor is suppose to get the sides (script) 24 hours in advance. ALL commercial auditions are cold-reads if there is copy & if an actor comes in and the casting director thinks the actor could be more right for another character, a cold-read will be asked of the actor. Also, this happens during callbacks for the producer or director when they are trying to decide which actor is more right for the role. Having this skill down is a must for this business.

The teacher who teaches this series comes from Austin and will almost always be a weekend intensive.

Feb 17-19Feb 17 7-9pm Feb 18 2-6pm Feb 19 2-6pm

Also offered: March 24-26 March 24 7-9pm March 25 2-6pm March 26 2-6pm

10-11 hours $349.Ben Sullivan- Instructor

FILM 4

This is the most important class I teach. It is when I find out who is in the program to be a true actor or if they are here to be famous. Film 4 is about listening, reacting and being affected! Every parent & sometimes- actors think it is all about how you do "the lines". It isn't. It is about what you do between the lines- how you listen, how you are affected, how the information makes you feel & how you move your audience. It's what every casting director is looking for. In fact, casting directors in L.A. have even THANKED me for having this class. This class is the reason why my little studio in Texas is where people come from all over the country & why I have so many stars who come out of my program!

Thursday nights from 7-9pm beginning February 23, March 2, March 9, March 23, March 30, April 13, April 27

14 hours $379. Cathryn Sullivan-instructor

FILM 5

This is all about comedy, comedy, comedy!!! We will work on Comedic scenes from Network TV, Disney, Nickelodeon and Feature Films. Each genre needs something a little different in the way of Comedic timing, flow and pace. We really work on being able to put the funny side of our personalities into our scenes! Comedy is hard, butreallyfun!

FILM 6

Actors are asked to audition for parts that are sometimes opposite their personality, so that is what Film 6 is all about- playing character's opposite their personalities like nerds, insanely jealous girlfriend, bullies, bossy cheerleaders & sociopaths. It is a really fun series! The kids love this one!

It is also in the "Mixed Level" class where there are several different levels in a class, but each student is working on their own level- one level at a time!

Film 6 is offered:

New Master 1

Actors are asked to do voice-over auditions. Everything about voice-over is different. Even the way an actors slates for voice-over is different than a slate for an audition for T.V. or Film. We concentrate on cartoon voice-over at first and then, we work on monologues- both physical comedy monologues and dramatic crying monologues.

This is also in the "Mixed Level" class where there are several different levels in a class, but each student is working on their own level-one level at a time.

New Master 1 is offered on:

1) Thursday nights from 7-9pm beginning

February 23, March 9, March 23, March 30, April 13, April 27

2) It is also offered as a weekend intensive February 17-19.

February 17, 5-8pm February 18, 10-3February 19 10-3 (Lunch is included both days for an added $20 or you can choose to bring your lunch).

Students Can take both this class AND the one on Thursdays if they would like to gain two levels in one session.

$379. for 14 hoursCathryn Sullivan- instructor

New Master 2

Actors in the program up until now have mainly been focusing on feature film work and Network T.V. comedy. This session, we focus completely on Disney and Nickelodeon work & what they are looking for. They are much faster and more animated, but still being very real and there are things an actor can do to make these networks think that the actor "Gets" them. This program has produced so many stars for both Disney & Nick & I help the students with the key to booking on these networks. This is the last class the student takes before reaching MASTER status.

Look for "Mixed Levels" if you need New Master 2 where you will work beside others who are working on Film 5, Film 6, & New Master 1. Each student is working on their own level during this class.

New Master 2 is being offered:

1)on Thursday nights from 7-9pm beginning February 23, March 9,

March 23, March 30, April 13, April 27

2) It is also offered as a weekend intensive the weekend ofFebruary 17-19

February 17-19pm February 17, 5-8pm February 18, 10am-3pm February 19, 10am-3pm (Lunch is included both days for an extra $20 or you can choose to bring your lunch).

MASTER STUDENTS:

This is where everything the students have been learning are integrated together and where they are expected to become a professional actor. Every session, master students learn something different that is relevant to what is happening in the industry at the time. We have done everything from

1) Stand up comedy

2) Mastering roles from each genre including Feature film Drama & feature film comedy, Network Drama & Network Comedy, Disney & Stage

3) Understanding how to identify, how to play & what your responsibility for an Under Five, Principal role, Recurring, Guest starring, Regular on a T.V. show & Star is

4) How to handle a Film or T. V. series with Group comedy in it- (It's hard! Believe me!)

5) AND MUCH MORE!

Every session for our master classes is different. Something new is learned in each session and they are never the same! This session, we will be working on new exercises and we will have many new scenes from movies like"La La Land" & New Hit T.V. shows like "Colony" and "Blackish". PARENT SEMINAR INFORMATON

Do not get your advice from the parent next to you watching their child in class with yours! I've seen more parents give advice like they are the ultimate authority and their child hasn't even done anything yet! Perhaps they mean well. Perhaps they don't.... but you should get your advice from professionals! We are offering PARENT DAY on March 5th. TWO seminars! One will be for Beginning, New Parents. The other will be for the more Advanced Parent.

If your child dream's it, YOU (the parent) must master (understand) it, SO THEY CAN DO IT!

You know the saying, "It takes a village to raise a child", well it takes a TRIBE to raise an actor! Surely, you want to understand and help navigate one of the most important endeavors your child may take on right? Part of knowing is understanding and understanding is learning. Parent seminars are available tools for you (the parents) to take advantage of. To learn from the experience of others and to gain the knowledge of this ever changing industry. Such as: the difference between an agent and a manager?, when is your child ready for an agent?, do you know what tax write off's you have? how important is training? the benefits of seminars? agency contracts? what is pilot season? what is episodic season? AND SO SO SO MUCH MORE. Most parents of successful young actors have attended and participated in these seminars. Your child may be the driving force behind this journey but YOU (the parent) are the one behind the wheel, shouldn't you know where you are going?

PARENT SEMINAR DAY WILL BE SUNDAY, MARCH 5TH! SAVE THE DATE!

I'm so looking forward to our upcoming seminar to see what new and exciting things will happen at the studio!

Passionately,

Mitchell Gossett
Senior Vice President
CESD Talent Agency

I can't wait to show them how much my student's have grown!!!

WHO IS MITCHELL GOSSETT?! Mitchell is one of the most prestigious agents in the kid/teen actor arena of all time! He really is! He is a rare kind of agent as he has a masters degree in acting & is actually known all over the world for his eye for talent! CESD has been around since 1967 and has offices in both L.A. & New York in which Mitchell is senior vice-president of! We are so lucky that he takes such a great interest in Texas! Mitchell & I have partnered for many years and helped make many of my students the stars they are today.Mitchellbeginthe careers of Miley Cyrus, Victoria Justice, Demi Lovato, Cody Linley, Logan Henderson(& the list goes on and on) to get their start many years ago.

Fast forward to now where recently, the partnership between my studio & CESD with Mitchell Gusset & Melissa Berger who helped DODGE PRINCE land an amazing role in "The Magnificent Seven" with Ethan Hawk, Denzel Washington & Chris Pratt. It is a huge blockbuster in theaters now!! Studios and networks have come to depend on Gossett's pool of reliable child stars and his ability to detect raw talent in untested young performers.

Have you seen the trailer toBRYCE GHEISAR's upcoming movie, "A Dog's Purpose"? It has over 5 million views already! Can you guess who Bryce Gheisar's agent is??? Mitchell at CESD! Mitchell and Michael Hepburn, Bryce's manager, worked together to insure that Bryce remained the top runner for the huge Dreamworks film...and WHERE did BRYCE get his L.A. agent? ....at a WORKSHOP at my studio...and before that, Bryce got Dee Ann Vernon from the Kim Dawson Agency to pick him up a few years ago from a workshop at our studio as well!!!! Then, CESD picked him up at a MITCHELL GOSSETT/MELISSA BERGER workshop at the studio.Bryce has a DISNEY XD show called "Walk the Prank" and just finished a film called "Wonder"with Julia Roberts and Jacob Trembley!

Bryce's Upcoming Movie Trailer:
Bryce's Upcoming Movie Trailer: "A Dog's Purpose"

And while we are on the topic of talent with CESD...I hope you tuned in last night to CBS to see another one of my shared success stories with Mitchell Gossett -MATTHEW MCCANNon "Man with a Plan"! It comes on Mondays (beginning last night) at7:30on CBS! Here is a cool interview with Matthew where he mentions our studio!!!

ALSO, CESD's talent, ESTELLE HERMANSEN, just finished up 4 episodes of the award winning series "American Horror Story"! You may see Estelle here in class in the Middle School Master class, but she has been bopping back and forth as a recurring role on that show.

And the List Goes On!

CESD's HAYDEN CRAWFORD, was in Middle School Master class last week, but will be flying out next week to finish up 9 episodes of "Nicky, Ricky, Dicky, and Dawn" on Nickelodeon. Can't wait to see him next season!

CALEB PIERCE has a recurring role on "The Real O'Neals". AGAIN, Caleb was picked up by Mitchell & Melissa when they came to the studio one year and the rest is history!

Mitchell also found BREC BASSINGER here at the studio and put her in "Bella and The Bulldogs"

One thing amongst many I can say about Mitchell, is he is dynamic. His energy iscontagiousand when he speaks, my students listen and learn. I always find myself becoming a better teacher because he was here. He's exciting to meet & watch! Besides all of the kids & teens he's made stars out of from my studio, he is also the agent of Connor Jessup from "American Crime", Cara Buono from "Stranger Things",Atticus Shaffer from "The Middle", Danielle Campbell from "The Originals", Katherine McNamara from "Shadowhunters" and many, many more!

Testimonials about Mitchell Gossett's Teaching
"Mitchell teaches me something new everytime I take his seminar. Yes, he is senior vice-president of CESD, which is huge, and I am with another agency in L.A., but he is also a great teacher and teaches things that we miss somethimes. I come out of his classes confident and full of knowledge every time!" It's just a great experience! I encourage everyone to try it".

-Bryce Cass(Bryce is in the picture below, now living in L.A. This year, Bryce has filmed a pilot where he was a regular, and had a guest starring role on "Night Shift" )

"The Mitchell seminars were always the highlight for me at the studio and I believe the most beneficial. Every year he came with new techniques and ideas that made me grow as an actor. I majored in acting in college and have taken workshops in LA and I've never seen his methods taught by any other teacher (besides Cathryn). I believe I took his workshop 7 years in a row and hands down every time was worth it! I applied the techniques he taught once I moved to LA and they are what booked me my first role on a network show! His love for acting is contagious and I believe you will walk away a smarter, stronger, better equipped actor than how you came in! I'm so thankful Cathryn is so passionate about bringing in incredible teachers like Mitchell. I wouldn't be doing what I am today if it wasn't for these opportunities!"

- Caleb Pierce(Caleb is living in L.A. and has a recurring role on "The Real O'Neals")

HELP! I NEED HELP WITH THE VOICEOVER CLASS WITH MELISSA BERGER!Let's face it. Melissa Berger is a huge force at CESD and Voice-over is a big source of income for their actors, so why not let this wonderful V.O. teacher teach you what she knows and let her get to know your child one on one! Melissa is actually the one who saw Matt McCann first and told Mitchell to watch him the next day when he did his scene. She has a huge influence on Mitchell. He trusts her more than anyone else in his life...So you want some rules, regulations or just a review of voice-over? That can happen!

In light of recent events,I wanted to share with my acting family a few thoughts -

Our studio has saved so many actors who have told me that if it wasn't for the studio, they wouldn't know what to do or if they would've made it. It's a hard world out there for Actors....and they are BORN actors. God made them that way. Actors feel different and don't really fit in to society because they think so differently than "normal" people & also, because let's face it- They are treated differently. When my actors tell people what they do, they are almost always met with snickers & sneers, usually followed by a "Soooo-What's your plan B?". Many are harshly made fun of because of what they have chosen to do. When my students are famous, people watch their every move and judge them more harshly than they would anyone else. If they see them out somewhere, They expect them to get up from their meals with their families & take pictures RIGHT THEN & worse. Some are called "faggot" and "retard" for being an actor. I've heard so many horrible stories. My babies (students) need our studio to gather and feel accepted and loved & understood, & I know that Corbyn felt that way about the studio as well for several years.#RIPCORBYN

Why Take a Seminar??

Don't take our word for it. Here are some reasons from past and current students!

It may take several seminars before you (or your child) are really comfortable being in front of the industry guests. I began having these powerful people come to the studio originally because I wanted my son, Cody Linley to know & start feeling comfortable with high level powerful people in this business. I loved that he was getting to know them, that they were getting to know him& was able to see how he grew and got better year after year so that they could vouch for himwithout a single doubt in their mind when it came time to booking him! Also, they felt invested in his career! They felt they were a part of his career. I liked that!

I have several students who when they finally "let it go" and started becoming comfortable, THAT is when the magic happens! Don't force it! Everyone is looking for a short cut. There is no short cut to this business. You have to work at it...one by one...climbing up that long ladder, and there is no better way for our students to understand what it takes to be able to handle the pressure that an actor will be under once they get a callback, chemistry read, screen test or the actual job on a T.V. or Film set. These seminars are nearest to that experience than anything I have ever seen.

WHAT DOES THE SEMINAR PACKAGE INCLUDE?First of all, The student comes to a pick out script day where we pick the right script for them. We go over several options. Then, the student will come to a buff up where an aide is assigned to them to make them talk over character ideas and thoughts for the scene. Then, they work on the scene where they are given notes. After that, I watch them intensely and give them detailed notes on how to really come through on their super important picked-for-them seminar scene for the seminar .... ALL of this is a part of the seminar package & a big part of this hugelearning process! Every part of getting ready for a seminar is quite a learning experience as well as a chance for them to get to know some very important powerful industry guests!

NOVEMBER 12. She really believes it's important to be able to think on your feet ifyou are in this business. She usually likes to see the students' do their regular scene and she likes to spend time withthem in a class setting to see how spontaneous they can act on their feet. I'm bringing inCody Linleyto teach some improv the week before she comes in so that everyone will be ready when it's time for Jen. Cody will be here to teach improv and also- to teach privates that week to anyone who wants special attention for their scenes.

MOMS SPEAK OUT FOR WHAT SEMINARS DID FOR THEIR CHILDREN:

Many people ask me how Bryce got on "Walk the Prank" or in the movies he has coming out soon. I always tell them that there is no magic formula except he went to class at Cathyn's and took every class and seminar he could. He grew as an actor each time he was at the studio and was signed by both his Dallas and LA agents as a result of the seminars. He also got his LA manager from the seminars at Cathy's! We have the BEST Team thanks to Cathryn Sullivan's Acting for Film!!! Thank you Cathy!

- Nicole Gheisar (Mother of Bryce Gheisar)

Seminars were the opportunity for Bryce Cass to be noticed. It was where he picked up his first LA agent and where he began to be noticed as a contender in the LA market and most importantly where he learned and began to network amongst casting directors and agents.I've always said I'd rather pay $375 for a seminar than $2000 to fly to LA (air, hotel, car, etc) to be seen.I put Bryce in every seminar because the results (callbacks, taperequests and more) changed his acting career. As Bryce began to network with these casting directors from past seminars, he began to establish a working relationship and they began to take him to straight to callback - skipping the initial audition. Now that he lives in LA, I wish he still had these opportunities because most actors in LA do not see the casting director, they see their assistants. So, bottom line - use the seminar opportunities to network, to learn and to grow as an actor.xoxo Terry Cass (PhOtOgrAphy JuNkie-Mother of the first Bryce- Bryce Cass)

Howdy folks! This is Caleb Pierce :) Living in LA has been a dream of mine for a looong time, and I am so excited to say I am finally doing it! I'm happy to report there are amazing students from Cathryn's who

Caleb Pierce

are living out here already and who make this crazy city feel like home. Of course, I still get newsletters from Cathryn's Studio cause I love to stay in the know, and I am reminded that seminars are in full swing (WOOP WOOP!). That got me thinking about the seminars I've done in the past, and started conversations with some of my friends about how the seminars have helped us achieve or get closer to our dreams! For those of you who are nervous or unsure about seminars, I hope this will be the boost you need take that bold step and be in a seminar!

- Caleb Pierce

Katie Sarife

"I started taking Cathryn's seminars as soon as I could. Jennifer saw me at my first seminar and became interested in signing me, but she wanted to see me in another one to know that I was consistent. She then signed me and I've been with her ever since. I absolutely love having her as my agent and am so grateful that Cathy brings in such great people to come see all of hertalented students. They have also helped me build a repertoire with casting directors who constantly bring me in the room. I wish there were seminars out here as good as Cathy's -- you get more attention and time to really learn from the guests in Texas. I wouldn't be where I am without Cathryn and those seminars."

- Katie Sarife

Mason Dye

Mason Dye

"Without Cathryn's seminars, I wouldn't be in the position that I'm in now.

It provided me two agents, a manager, and opportunities I wouldn't have had before."

- Mason Dye

JT Neal,Alex Yonks, & Belle Shouse

"The seminars are the best way I've ever seen to get in front of some incredibly influential people. LA is such a tough town, but I was able to come out here already having an agent (who I met at the seminar) and already knowing casting directors! So I had such a big leg up on everyone else who had never had that opportunity. I've seen people driving themselves crazy trying to figure out how to get in front of LA agents, and I was able to do it in the safety of my favorite acting studio with absolutely no pressure! I recommend that all actors who are serious about this business and serious about having a good foundation when they come to LA take EVERY SEMINAR OPPORTUNITY THAT CATHY GIVES! She has never had someone there that didn't matter. Every time you are able to get in front of someone like the people that Cathy invites, you are taking another huge step in your career. Every seminar counts. I have the best representation in the world. I really believe that. And I wouldn't have had it if it weren't for Cathryn's seminars."

- JT Neal

"I can't even remember how many seminars I've taken with Cathy, but after every seminar I always came out a stronger actress and stronger person. Practice, passion and dedication is key and inserting yourself into a situation that is out of your comfort zone isn't a skill you can master over night. By taking seminars starting in the film classes, I was subconsciously preparing myself for all of the future seminars I'd take. Seminars are different than regular classes, and you have to practice them just like you'd practice doing a scene in class. Try doing the best for yourself. Odds are, if you do your homework, prepare, and come in ready to have a great time, you'll impress the people in the room by just being YOU!"

- Alex Yonks

"It's kinda funny when people ask me how to get auditions and how to find

representation in LA. I have to tell them that I honestly don't know! I had the luxury of meeting people at seminars at Cathryn Sullivan's studio. It was really cool because these powerful people would come to my studio - the studio that felt like home - and spend HOURS with us. Not just 10 minutes like an audition. So I really got to know the people she would bring in and they also got to know me. Plus I could do a scene that I knew I was strong in. I learned so much and she brings so many different people. Agents, managers, casting directors, even studio executives. No one in LA gets studio executives to come to them!! It's unheard of. That's how recognizable her studio is in LA. I've even gone back to TEXAS after being in LOS ANGELES to take seminars to meet the people she brings in! The biggest thing I took from Cathy's teaching is confidence. That's very important in LA. When you get to spend quality time with big wig/important people... you realize that... That they are people. It makes the whole LA experience less intimidating which makes you more confident. Confidence is what's going to get you an agent and a job. I'm really thankful to Cathy for giving me a platform to hone in my skills as an actor but to also grow in my confidence in my acting."

- Noell Coet

Stephen Dinh

"Taking seminars gave me the real world experience of auditioning in front of industry pro

fessionals in a familiar and comfortable setting."

-Stephen Dinh

I love Cathy's seminars because it isamazing to get a behind-the

from acasting director or big agent is exremely rare and incredibly helpful. I was also able to get representation in both Dallas and Los Angeles through the seminars. I now feel more confident going into the audition room, which has helped me to book more often!"

Cathy brings in amazing industry guests for seminars to work with our kiddos right here in Texas! I have signed my daughter up for numerous seminars over the last few years. I know that because Kiera has been able to meet and learn from these professionals, there has been a positive impact on her accomplishments as an actress. Kiera enjoys seminars because they are challenging and fun at the same time. I would highly recommend you sign up your child so that they can experience the growth that happens as a result of consistently attending workshops in addition to classes. We have been so blessed to belong to the Cathryn Sullivan acting family, this studio is where the magic happens!"

~ Danielle Strauss (Mother of Kiera Strauss)

Both of my girls have gained both Dallas and LA representation from the seminars at Cathryn's studio! It was a different process and journey for each child. One was signed after just a few seminars with local agent, which motivated the other to work hard to show that she was going to do everything she could to make her dreams come true! Then, when we least expected it, she was signed too! A few years later, she was the first to get an LA agent and manager! Followed up by the other getting an LA manager a year after that! There is no way to force it to happen, just time and hard work, and being at the right place at the right time! Cathy's seminars are DEFINETELY the right place and the time is now!

***DIRECTOR CLASS INFORMATION***

ACTORS NEEDED for the Director's Class -MUST BE AVAILABLE ALMOST ALL SHOOT DAYS.Please read below for instructions on how to submit yourself.

WHAT IS DIRECTOR CLASS?

If you are considering signing up for the Director's class, there are still a few spots available. You will be embarking on one of the most fun and adventurous classes at the studio!

Director class here at the Studio was designed at first FOR actors to learn the other side of the camera. I felt that by walking in the shoes of a WRITER, DIRECTOR, PRODUCER, AND EDITOR, an actor could benefit by understanding exactly what those on the other side of the camera are looking for and what THEY go through. Several of my students ended up pursuing jobs on the other side of the camera (like Alex Yonks, who works on the set of 'BIG BANG THEORY' now), but once they found out how much fun all of this is, almost every actor found a new set of confidence after going through the process of directing their film.

It may sound overwhelming at first, and I admit- It is a challenging class, but just remember-It's just a SHORT FILM that you need to put together.

You only need 4-6 minutes of film after editing to enter the film festival!

You can't even enter if it is over 6 minutes unless you are an alumni director (An alumni director is a student who has already taken this class in the past, and alumni directors get 4- 8 minutes of film if they need the time).

WHAT YOU NEED?

Your own camera to record your scenes

Computer/Laptop to edit

Editing software (imovie, windows movie maker, etc)

The first day, we have a handout that will help navigate you through the various steps of what you are expected to do including:

1.Brainstorming ideas(Brainstorming time is where we talk as a group on ideas and thoughts of what you might want to do after seeing previous year's films as a starting point).

2. Finding the right script, genre, ideas for your film- Do you want to tell a story, give your viewpoint? Do you want to entertain or try your hand at a comedy? Do you want to do a horror flick short film? We have had numerous examples of those throughout the years and all of these - at some point has won FIRST PRIZE at the CATHRYN SULLIVAN'S FILM FESTIVAL.. which is $150.Shoot your first film! You will be glad for all of the things you learned.

3.Auditioning and casting your film- This is not the time to pick your BFF or your sister for your film. I recently saw a short film and everything about it was lovely except the casting of one of the main leads. It was obvious that she was not up to par with the rest of the character's charisma, charm and talent. I asked the director if she was a relative or her BFF...I KNEW she had to be because no one would have cast her for that role otherwise. It turned out she HAD cast her sister, and the film was not what it could've been if she had protected her project better). We have several actors who volunteer to be actors for these short films. If you are someone who would like to audition to be an actor for a short film, please send us your

information. A headshot and resume' is helpful, but not needed.

We will need permission slips from your parents that say it is ok to leave the studio to film. Terry Cass, myself, Stephen & Lisandra will be the staff that will handle these location shootings

4.Finding the right location and shot lists- We have several locations that we have already picked out to use during "SHOOT TIME".We will go off-campus the very first day to investigate the Locations by all directors (including living rooms, bedrooms, powder room, backyard area, woody areas with a creek, two different parks, a cemetery plus the studio). We've also been known to go to other places that a director might need to help complete their film. Shooting after class at a location that is off the grid after class is also encouraged as long as you keep your parents in the loop if you are under 18 years of age. Each director will be given a packet of illustrated shots that they might want to use during the filming of their project. An Aid will demonstrate them as well to help you understand how each shot works.

5.Finding the right wardrobe and props is important too!

The right wardrobe and having the right props are obvious. We already use wardrobe and props in class as master students, so these two should already come pretty easily to you as a director. Without these two things being well thought out, there is no believability to your project

6.Set Design-This is where I find many of my first time directors lack, therefore my aides and I will try and help guide you through this process. On all of these sets, we will have really great aides helping you out with your thoughts on shots, but be smart. Look into your camera. Do you see something in the background that could distract from your film? Do you see the pictures of family members of the house owners instead of YOUR "pretend family's" pictures? Also, notice if your subject's lighting is too "hot" or if they look too dark for your camera settings.

7.Editing your film- There are all kinds of editing software to help you edit your film. Also, if you need some help or last minute ideas to give your film a little more polish, we will be there to help out.

8.Turning in your film- Each director MUST TURN IN THEIR FILM to be able to participate in the Film Festival. We encourage our directors to turn in their films weeks before the deadline, but it is imperative that directors get their film in by the deadline. We must have time for our aides to view the films and give them a rating (Like G or PG-13) or see if anything needs to be reshot . There is a lot that goes into organizing a film festival and we need at LEAST 5 days! Cathryn will not view the finished films until the day of film festival.

9.FILM FESTIVAL- Film Festival day is a very fun event including a red carpet event with your cast.Everyone is encouraged to dress up for the red carpet event and you will be in charge of inviting your cast as well. Pictures will be taken by the very fabulous photographer TERRY CASS (Photography Junkie) with singles and cast pictures. There will be judges Usually a producer or two and myself) who will value each film to pick the BEST FILMMAKER, BEST ACTOR, BEST ACTRESS as well as a second and third place Filmmaker.

We will help you get through this challenging, yet fun and extremely educational adventure! Come with your own camera and make sure you have a computer you can edit on. Almost everyone has these two things in their family, so LET'S DIG IN AND DO THIS!

Corrections & Questions for Cathryn Sullivan Acting for Film Fall Registration

Man! No matter how many times we go over the newsletter before it goes out, we still seem to miss something every time! We are sorry about that. Despite everyone's belief that we are perfect, I am sorry... We are not! JK!! ...But we also let you know when we mess up, so here it is!

CORRECTION: ADULT CLASSis NOT Thursday from 5:15-6pm or some crazy time like that which was in the last newsletter. It is going to be on Thursday mornings like it always has been from 10am-12:20pm. Dates are October 20, October 27, November 3,November 10, November 17 and December 1st--6 classes for 2 hour 20 minutes for $355.Ages 17-90 years old!If you have thought about being in the adult class, THIS is the time to try it. It is a mixed level class with different age ranges and skill types and it is an absolutely wonderful group of people! I love these students so much- all so supportive and they are such great human beings! Some originally got into the class for "fun" and now, have agents and are going out on auditions, however we have some who just want to take this class to learn how to be better readers for their child, or to understand what their child is going through as an actor. These are all good reasons to take Adult Class, plus it's FUN!!! Be brave. TRY IT!

HUGE QUESTION BEING ASKED!There has been a HUGE QUESTION BEING ASKED! We have gotten several emails asking us "If my child doesn't get into one class, what can we do to make sure they are not bumped the whole semester? ANSWER: Go ahead andrequest registration for both classes (Your A and B choice for each child) and then, RIGHTAWAY-Send us an emailto4classreg@gmail.comsaying "We would like Alexandria to take the Wednesday Master Intensive, but it she doesn't get into that class, wewould like for her to do the Saturday High School Master class from 1-4:30pm" or say "Mallory would like to take both the Master Intensive Please be specific and send it asap because we will have a staff here on Saturday to work on this!

Fall 2016 - Classes

FALL REGISTRATION!

Fall registration is about to happen. Do not miss out. Registration will beSaturday, September 3rd at 9:30am. Staff will be ready to answer your calls.

Remember, If you are not moving forward with your skills, then you are moving backwards. Not only are you missing out, someone else is coming up in the program that will move ahead of you with both skill and confidence. There is no standing still. ALSO, we have wonderful, fabulous workshops coming up, so if you are IN CLASS this session, you will qualify to take this outstanding opportunity. They are only a save the date for now. We will be processing the registration for classes first. Mostly, your actor needs a home...and our studio is a home for actors. It is my belief that actors are misunderstood. I love my studio because it gives all actors a place to come together, learn & grow besides being a place they are understood.

HUGE SEMINAR COMING UP! SAVE THE DATE! Nov 12-13

OnNovember 12-13, We will have a NEW Casting director coming this fall....Rich Delia!! Rich has cast some unbelievable awesome movies like "Dallas Buyers Club", "Short Term 12" and "The Help" and many more! Isn't that cool?!

We also have a third L.A. industry guest that weekend-Michael Hepburn of Industry Entertainment Partners.Michael is a manager with Industry Entertainment Partners. He is a great manager of my students.

Michael isThomas Mann'smanager, and along with Jennifer as his agent, has created possibly the best career path for anyone in the 20s right now. He has a big studio movie coming out (Kong:Skull Island with Brie Larson) and one of his latest indies (Me, Earl & the Dying Girl) got awards all over the most prestigious film festivals and Variety even thought Thomas should be considered for Best Actor for the Academy Awards last year. Michael also took onBryce Gheisartwo years ago at a workshop at my studio and along with his agent, Mitchell Gossett at CESD (who is senior vice-president at CESD & coming to the studio December 3-4), and with my coaching skills and Bryce's genius parents who took advantage of the opportunities placed in front of them, Bryce's career went CRAZY! He is a regular and stand out in the Disney XD show "Walk the Prank", has a Dreamworks movie coming out next month and is working with Julia Roberts and Jacob Trembley (the boy from ROOM) in the highly anticipated movie "Wonder" in Canada right now. Michael is possibly one of the best managers I know. He works wonders.

All registration for CLASSES will be ready online on Saturday, September 3rd at 9:30am. If you have trouble, we will be answering the phones from 9:30am-11:30am. Seminars will open a few weeks later after we have determined who is in the classes. Do not pick one or the other. This is important. These agents and managers only come around once a year to line up for pilot season.

REGISTRATION WILL BE HANDLED DIFFERENTLY!

PLEASE READ!

We have come a long way with our registration process. We linked in a new system so (as some of you noticed with the last registration) You can now register (600 people at a time or more) and it go through easily without the 45 minute waiting period like what use to be customary. We are so happy we found this new system. YAY!....but sometimes it is still overfilling the classes, and we do not want that, so In order to prevent the overfilling of classes, we will be running this registration a little differently from previous registrations.

Our new system will allow us to run on "request mode". This will log the class requests as they come -in order that they come in. If you receive an email that says we have received your request, that DOES NOT mean that you are registered. This just means you are on the request list. We will approve the first 10-20 people on the list once we have qualified them. You must make sure your credit card online is active and ready to accept payment. We will process the payment once we have qualified the students and you will receive a confirmation from4classreg@gmail.comwith your class information. We hope to do a lot of it the same morning of registration. Thanks for being patient as we had some growing pains with registration. ALSO, we will wait a few more weeks before we register any workshops to make sure everything goes well and we can tell more easily who qualifies for the workshops.

FALL CLASSES:

ARE YOU A BEGINNEROR HAVE YOU BEEN THINKING ABOUT TAKING AT CATHRYN SULLIVAN'S ACTING FOR FILM?Have you thought about getting your child or teen or college-aged child into an acting class for film & T.V., but don't know where to start? Look at the website atwww.cathrynsullivan.comand look at the hall of fame. There is nowhere else that has this caliber and this many stars coming out of their program. We have a program that is like no other anywhere else in the country. We even have hadL.A. actorswho have come here to train! Many of our students come from Memphis, Tennessee, Florida, Wisconsin, Illinois, Oklahoma and a bunch from Austin,San Antonio and Houston.

This is where the "select" actors come!..the serious ones..the ones who want to really be an actor...the ones who's dreams are to get an Oscar one day. We will teach them how to be professional actors. First and mostly, We just care about the craft of acting and secondly, we teach you how to use your skills to book parts.Start with Film 1 if you are interested. Our Film 1teacher comes from Austin, Texas. Ben Sullivan is cool, smart,& funny. You will love him. (pictured below in the brown shirt) THIS is a family business. Ben teaches Film 1 and Film 3. Cody Linley (in red) is an actor in Hollywood (recently a lead in "Sharknado 4") and comes here from L.A. to teach 3 times a year. I (Cathryn Sullivan) am in the green. We love what we do and we love actors! I'm so fortunate to have such a wonderful family, both my personal family and my acting studio family! If you have been taking somewhere else and you want to bring it up a notch but don't feel like you should start at the beginning, email me atCathySully2@gmail.comfor an evaluation request.

FILM 1(ages 10 thru college) is where budding actors have the opportunity to enhance their skills. We reinforce being natural and believable on camera. Being directable is a must and is a skill all actors need to develop to work in film. Actors will build on character development skills, work with props, and hit marks while responding to set directions. We simulate real onset location shootings using the students as leads, principals, and extras. The students will boost their on-camera skills while using different types of shots.

FILM 1 w/ Ben Sullivan - Fri., 9/9 (5-7pm), Sat., 9/10 (9am-1pm) & Sun., 9/11 (9am-1pm) - $349

Did you know that you can take Film 1 & Film 3 at the same time? Once you complete both, you will go back and take Film 2, then Film 4, and so on.

FILM 1 w/ Ben Sullivan - Fri., 11/18 (5-7pm), Sat., 11/19 (9am-1pm) & Sun., 11/20 (9am-1pm) - $349

Did you know that you can take Film 1 & Film 3 at the same time? Once you complete both, you will go back and take Film 2, then Film 4, and so on.

FILM 2(ages 10 thru college) is where the actor elevates his/her own usage of projecting their own emotions while delving into emotional scenes. After watching and studying child and teen actors who are accomplished in their field at showing extreme emotion in their scenes and working on exercises used in professional circles, we try it ourselves. We use various type scenes taken from real feature films like Stepmom, Stand By Me, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Life is a House, etc.

FILM 4(ages 10 thru college) is a class series totally concentrating on enhancing listening and reacting skills. One of the most important things casting directors look for in an actor is their listening skills and it is one of the LEAST focused-on skills of the actor. (Who wants to learn to listen?). We work on many fun exercises to learn how to "be effected" and we finish with a fun distraction exercise which sharpen the actors' ability to concentrate and perform your scene even when distractions happen. (Real examples of the kinds of things that happen: cell phone going off, babies crying, casting director's answering their phones or talking to someone else while you do your scene). Once the student has worked on distraction exercises, they are usually stronger and more confident to be able to handle this situation when it comes up.

FILM 2 / FILM 4 Combo Class - Thursdays: (10/13, 10/20, 10/27, 11/3, 11/17, 12/8, 12/15/2016) - 5:15pm-7:15pm - Date are not consecutive - $379*Corrected Dollar Amount

You will only receive credit for 1 level.

Most Levels Weekend for "Out of Towners" (FILM 2, FILM 4, FILM 5, FILM 6, NEW MASTER 1, NEW MASTER 2) - Fri., 10/7 (5-7pm), Sat., 10/8 (9am-1:30pm) & Sun., 10/9 (9am-1:30pm) - $379

Out of town students get priority for this class for the first 2 hours of registration, then if there are slots remaining, anyone is welcome to sign up.

FILM 3(ages 10 thru college) is all about the actor expanding their cold-reading skills. Solid cold-reading skills are a necessity in all aspects of this business...Film, TV, Commercial, Industrials and Stage. In this class, we will cold-read within 8-10 minutes every week to sharpen our skills for these cold-reading situations.

FILM 3 w/ Ben Sullivan - Fri., 9/9 (7-9pm), Sat., 9/10 (2-6pm), Sun., 9/11 (2-6pm) - $349

Did you know that you can take Film 1 & Film 3 at the same time? Once you complete both, you will go back and take Film 2, then Film 4, and so on.

Film 3 w/ Ben Sullivan - Fri., 11/18 (7-9pm), Sat., 11/19 (2-6pm), Sun., 11/20 (2-6pm) - $349

Did you know that you can take Film 1 & Film 3 at the same time? Once you complete both, you will go back and take Film 2, then Film 4, and so on.

Film 4 is up with the Film 2 descriptions.

FILM 5(ages 10 thru college) - COMEDY, COMEDY, COMEDY!!! We will work on Comedic scenes from Network TV, Disney, Nickelodeon and Feature Films. Comedic timing, flow and pace will be at the forefront of our concentration and how they differ with each situation. We really work on being able to put our funny side of our personalities into our scenes!

FILM 6(ages 10 thru college) is all about working on characters that are opposite the students' personalities. It is one of the most fun series where they portray characters that are nerds, bullies, insanely jealous girls or "mean girl" types, and sociopaths-challenging but fun!

NEW MASTER 1(ages 10 thru college)

Improving your voiceover and monologue skills to help with agent interviews and independent film auditions. Also, physical comedy is explored immensely and relating to your own life experience to bring a dramatic monologue to life is worked on.

NEW MASTER 2(ages 10 thru college)

This is THE class to help you Improve and understand how to bring your Disney and Nickelodeon style auditions to a callback or booking. This class is pure Disney, Nick and Cartoon Network scenes. The acting is more animated, but we teach students how to go back and forth to the other genres in this class so the student does not get stuck in Disney type acting.

Mixed Levels (FILM 5, FILM 6, NEW MASTER 1, NEW MASTER 2) - Thursdays: (10/13, 10/20, 10/27, 11/3, 11/17, 12/8, 12/15/2016) - 7:15pm-9:15pm - Date are not consecutive - $379

MASTER CLASSES!

Students take all of their film skills and learn how to use all of those skills plus lessons that only master students have access to, learning how to develop chemistry better with other actors and enhance their ability to stand out. They will be integrating their growth from the Film series (Film 1-New Master 2) into their work every week and concentrate on their weaknesses in order to strengthen their skills. There is focus on small details that make a difference in the callback situations to help book jobs. There will be focus on the visual vs. vocal subtext skills and body language. (In other words, watching the difference between what the actor's face and eyes say vs. what his/her voice say vs. what the actor's body language is reflecting).

Look at the evaluations of one of our students and aides (Lisandra Ortega). Look how her scores have improved over time. Working on your skills at my studio and going tothese pressure situations where the casting directors, agents and managers are watching really help a student understand how to perform under pressure.

Remember-

Fall Registration is September 3rd at 9:30am!!

There is a lot of information in this newsletter. Yes, it IS like a book. It's a lot to take in and a lot for me to write, but instead of bombarding you weekly with newsletters, I put out one once every few months. THIS one has information about May workshops that can help you get ahead of the Summer Rush, Registration for JUNE classes, and Bookings!

REGISTRATION FOR SUMMER CLASSES BEGINS THIS SUNDAY, MARCH 20th at 1:30pm (After Church and lunch!) July classes and Seminars will be up later next month. Remember, to qualify for a seminar, a student must be in a series class or 3 specialty classes to be able to qualify. You can view an online calendar of May and June sessions here: CATHRYN SULLIVAN'S MAY & JUNE CALENDAR! SUMMER REGISTRATION ON SUNDAY AT 1:30PM!

SUMMER-A TIME TO GET TO THE NEXT LEVEL!

Summer is A Time for Fun, Friends and Relaxation...YES! There IS a

time for that, but don't forget about the most important thing about SUMMER!
1) SUMMER is a time where you can get an edge on this business!
2) SUMMER Is the TIME where you can spend everyday at the studio to help GET you to the NEXT LEVEL!
3) SUMMER is the time you can Truly be the actor that you thought you really could be! You can actually See the light to getting your dreams!
4) SUMMER is a time where students who work hard on their craft at the Studio go from being "Pretty good" to becoming "Excellent":
           A) Where "Students who struggle" begin to "Improve Immensely".

    B) Where Students begin to "GAIN CONFIDENCE & Grow In Leaps and Bounds".

    C) Where Students Learn NOT just how to get an agent, but how to be taken seriously enough to "get auditions that matter"...Then, to not just "get auditions", but to "get callbacks".. and then, not how to just "get callbacks", but learn how "To BOOK!"

   D) Since we are called "The FARM" where L.A. Casting directors, Agents and Heads of Casting go to see who the next new hot stars will be, THIS is the place where you need to make your mark!

It's exciting for me as a Coach to see this huge change take place in my students during summer session.  I'm excited to see which students will make this transformation this summer!   DABBLERS don't work in this business..Ok...maybe they do occasionally, but no one really takes them seriously!...And If they are lucky enough to FINALLY book something off of their look, personality and their limited talent--Once they are on set, my students outshine them so much, that the student with limited talent's work ends up on the editing floor which is embarrassing and can hurt the rest of their career.  #TrueStory #ItHappens (See "Real Talk" below!)

LET'S GET REAL AND HONEST!!!

PEOPLE WHO TRY TO MAKE IT ON THEIR LOOK & PERSONALITY ARE NOT GOING TO GET WHAT THEY WANT!

It's important to know that REAL ACTORS know the hard work, tenacity and commitment it takes to possibly get a chance at working in this business, so someone who tries to make it on their look and personality with just a dabble of classes here and there are NOT CONSIDERED AN ACTOR IN THIS BUSINESS.

I recently watched a Project where FOUR of my master/premiere students were booked.  Three of MY students were leads. One was cast as a featured extra. The three that were cast as leads did an excellent job, showing depth, had wonderful transitions and were so believable. They moved their audience.

There was a  boy who also booked a lead on that project, but had only been in class through film 4 and decided it was too hard, left to try and make it on his talent alone. He DID finally book this project along with my students who are actively working on their skill, but guess what!? Even though he FINALLY booked something that had some meat to it, he was edited out all except for approximately 2 1/2 seconds of screen time!

MY students, on the other hand--had lots of screen time. They had depth. They MOVED you. They were so believable, it made you want to cry. They were all FABULOUS in the project!  Even the girl who booked the featured extra role had as much screen time as the lead boy who didn't think classes were necessary. Yes, He ended up booking something..... and then, he was edited out because he didn't know how to shine. He wasn't believable & His personality and look weren't enough to make a professional actor who can keep up with my master & premiere students on set!  How embarrassing to be a lead actor who only has under 3 seconds of screen time! #DoNotBeThisActor

GET IN THE GAME LIKE BRYCE CASS DID!

I WANT MORE BRYCE CASS's IN MY PROGRAM!!

I know many of you know how I love Bryce but there is a story about his tenacity and commitment to this business that I LOVE AND WANT TO SHARE WITH YOU!!!

BRYCE is Someone who worked on his craft for 10 years at my studio (He took from me at AGE 7 till AGE 18. First, he took at the Coppell studio where I worked for nine years, and then- followed me to my studio in Lewisville...where we've been for 6 1/2 years. He made his momma drive from Rockwall every day!). Bryce  worked for a while on huge projects like "Battle L.A." & 22 episodes of "Are you smarter than a Fifth Grader" etc., but then- his career took a turn while he was in an "in-between look"....but He still BELIEVED!! He worked on his craft Every single DAY.....never giving up...working at the studio as an aide and giving to other actors. He didn't book anything but a commercial or two for FOUR years after having a lot of success.

Bryce took every master intensive I offered.  He stretched himself as an actor trying things he didn't feel confident doing but wanted to try (accents, multiple personalities, speaking another language, etc).  He felt like the time in class was HIS time to ask questions, learn what he can and then put his training into action for any audition.  Then, My work with him was done. It was time for me to let him out of the

"coaches nest" and soar!

...And THAT he DID! He SOARED!! As soon as he got to L.A., on his SECOND audition......He BOOKED A HUGE PROJECT! He wasn't even in L.A. for THREE weeks before he booked a SERIES REGULAR role on an NBC pilot that is one the most-talked-about-pilots of this pilot season-- "CRUEL INTENTIONS" with Sarah Michelle Geller!!!

I'm ecstatic to be sharing this story with you because Bryce believed in himself enough to have patience and to continue his belief in his work/training.  I knew it was a matter of time for him but the fact that he persevered when most actors bail, is admirable.  I want these stories for all my tenacious actors but as an actor, YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE IN YOURSELF AND IN YOUR WORK. BE CONSISTENT IN YOUR TRAINING AND STRETCH YOURSELF TO BE MORE THAN YOU THINK YOUARE.

I BELIEVE IN MY PROGRAM!

Like in the "Let's Get Real" article above, As a COACH, I believe in my program. It works! BRYCE CASS is actually the THIRD student who has gone to L.A. & booked a big part on a T.V. Show within three weeks. The first one was Hayley Orrantia, who is filming her third season of  "THE GOLDBERGS" & The second one was Belle Shouse, who worked as a series regular the first season of "SECRETS AND LIES" where she had a pivotal role!

Also, Have you checked out my Hall of Fame lately? It is crazy that a studio in Texas has more stars and working actors that come out of it than most studios from L.A. and New York.  Many powerful people in the industry in L.A. say there is no other school like mine. That is why we get the quality of industry guests that we do here! AGAIN, Check out my Hall of Fame! Most Everyone on my HALL OF FAME studied with me from 3 1/2 years to 10 years. (Selena Gomez- 3 1/2  years, Demi -6 years,  Thomas Mann- Almost 5 years , Bryce Cass-10 years)   Check it out here! Cathryn Sullivan's Hall of Fame!

REGISTRATION for the upcoming MAY workshops
AND SUMMER SESSIONS for JUNE are listed down below.
Registation will be SUNDAY, MARCH 20th at 1:30pm.

Staff will be at the studio for questions!

#SpendYourSummerAtCathrynSullivansActingForfilmGettingSeriousAboutActing

(Bryce Cass pictures below)

I have always said that if I could have an actor everyday, I could make a star or at least- a working actor -out of them---if they work hard and do their homework! PLUS Come on---this is ACTING! It's so much more fun than Math or Science homework!..AND THIS studio is seen as the FARM and where seeds are planted & bloom into deep and wonderful actors. Agents, Casting Directors and HEADS of Casting in L.A. want to know who my next new hot star is.

Hi Actors, Actresses and those who love them!

2016 Winter classes are about to start! YAY! With it comes one of the most exciting workshops of the year! There are only a few sessions that are not full for Winter classes 2016, so please take a look and see what works for you.

Registration for the Dreamworks Workshop  is THIS FRIDAY AT NOON, JANUARY 22. If you want to be in it...and why wouldn't you (see information on these powerful people below) , go to www.cathrynsullivan.com , hit register & buy the workshop that is right for you online.  (don't forget to read about the pre-requisites for eligibility - you must be currently enrolled in class...).

CRISTI SOPER & ANIA O'HARA, Vice-President and Head of Casting at DREAMWORKS, Steven Spielberg's head people are coming to OUR STUDIO to teach workshops FEBRUARY 27 & 28th!  We have attracted such high level, powerful individuals that even my former students who live in L.A. are flying back for this workshop because they can not get in front of these ladies out there unless they are screen-testing for a Dreamworks project in L.A.! We are soooo lucky! It's wonderful that my students can continue to create a relationship with them because they live here in Texas.  Year after year, they watch my students grow & develop and THAT is what we want for our artists! They develop relationships with my students and aids, & they grow to love them like I do.

Question: Besides the education value to this workshop, is there any other benefit you've seen coming out of being in front of these powerful  Dreamworks girls?
When it comes time to help my students, they do. Last year, Caleb Pierce was who chosen to be their intern even though they had choices from all over the country including NYU, UCLA, USC & London's top students...but Caleb got the internship..Why?! Because they watched how he treated people year after year, so instead of a NYU top student getting that internship, Caleb Pierce from Abilene Christian College did! Also, when A very coveted role on a very coveted TV was right for one of my ethnic girls, Dreamworks championed my girl all the way to the last two for a regular part.  In the end, she didn't get it, but she got all the way down to the last two and her tape was seen by some very important people. Several students have been asked to try out for the voiceover parts for the Dreamworks cartoon features as well. Of course, I tell people- Do these workshops to learn & for the continuing relationships, but it doesn't hurt that we get working perks as well with it sometimes! Right?!

ANIA O'HARA is teaching voice-over classes! Ania O'Hara, Head of Casting at Dreamworks-mainly responsible for Voice-over for the Fabulous Cartoon features that have & are coming out will be teaching three classes of Voice-over on Saturday, February 27th while Christ Soper, vice-president of Casting at Dreamworks will be teaching in the main room watching scenes that we have picked out. Both will watch the master classes on Sunday.

Question: Will Local agents also be there at the workshop? Also- on the panel watching My students will be local agents Dee Ann Vernon, Director of  Children, Teens & Young adults at the Kim Dawson Agency as well as Barbara Blanchette, Director of Young talent at Campbell. Other local agents sometimes bop in as well!
Every single seminar, these women watch intently to each person who performs and almost every seminar, there are several students they pick up to add to their agency. It's the best way to get with them. They actually can see how the student reacts under pressure with everyone watching them and what happens when they are giving direction...and my staff and I train them to be ready! Remember - even if you are with one of these agents, wouldn't you like them to see your growth???  Of course you do!!!

As most of you know, Stephen Dinh & Connor Staddon are about to move to L.A., but are staying here for now- so that THEY can attend Christi & Ania's classes & to aid for the workshop as well.

BONUS! STEPHEN DINH IS TEACHING A VOICE-OVER CLASS PRIOR TO THE WORKSHOP SO YOU CAN BE FABULOUS!  ALSO, GREAT NEWS! Most of you who've been in class know that STEPHEN DINH is the king of Voice-over skills here at the studio, so he will be teaching a Voice-over class to get READY for Ania's Voice-over class the Sunday (Sunday, Feb. 22nd)
BEFORE Ania's workshop to hopefully WOW Ania this time. We all want to be prepared, & Stephen is the one to do it! Buff-ups for the regular session classes with Christi will be free. This is an extra class that you can take that will not only help with the seminar, but with any other voiceover auditions that you will go out for. Voiceover is only touched on for one class in the New master 1 series. I am always shocked at how hard it is for students to retain this information, but they are human and given lots of information to remember. THIS class will be a great review & Stephen loves voiceover and his plans to make it educational and fun at the same time are very exciting to me. I know you will love it and the price is right. Only $49. extra for this class!

So-To sum up all of the fabulous opportunities for the WORKSHOP:
SUNDAY, FEBRUARY  22nd
--
STEPHEN DINH

will teach A voice-over class offered to get ready for the voice-over workshop that ANIA OHARA, Head of Casting at Dreamworks will teach on Feb. 27th. Only an extra $49. required for this class.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 27th -- ANIA O'HARA will be teaching several voice-over classes! P.S. She casts a lot of voice-overs...

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 27---CHRISTI SOPER will be teaching & making suggestions and direction on scenes my students will do at this workshop for the AC classes, Film 2-New Master 2 and my adult class.

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 28th--BOTH CHRISTI SOPER & ANIA OHARA will watch all of my master students on Sunday, February 28th! These are the perks of being a master student, so congrats!

Question: Do I need anything for Pick out script day?  YES!

Question: My child already knows what he/she wants to do for that workshop. Can I skip the Pick out script day?  Yes! IF you or your child already knows what he/she will want to do for the workshop, please email me as soon as you get into the workshop with your request to my personal email at CathySully2@gmail.com so I can approve. Remember, I know what my guests might like & what might turn them off, so run it by me ASAP so if it isn't going to work, we can find the perfect script. PLEASE SHOW UP WITH YOUR ACTING FOLDER the day of PICK OUT SCRIPT DAY!! It helps in our discussions. BUFF-UPS- Buff-ups is where each student comes with their who, what & when sheet filled out & READY with lines memorized for the approved scene.  PLEASE BE SURE TO REGISTER FOR A BUFF UP AT THE TIME YOU ARE REGISTERING FOR THE WORKSHOP.

WORKSHOP DAYS- Come to the MAIN ROOM workshop with 6 head shots for local agents (Dee Ann Vernon, Director of Kids, Teens & Young adults of Kim Dawson agency will be there as well as Barbara Blanchette, Director of Kids & Teens at Campbell Agency will be there. Sometimes recently, we have other agents that pop in, so be prepared with an extra head shot for them if they end up popping by. Of course, Both CHRISTI & ANIA will be at the workshop on Sunday. CHRISTI will be there for Saturday's workshop.

Question: WHY IS THIS WORKSHOP IMPORTANT, Especially if my child has done this workshop before?

1) Each workshop is different. I learn something new every single workshop or I wouldn't even do these workshops. They are a lot of work on my part. I begin doing these kinds of workshops back in the day so that my own son could build & develop relationships with those who have the power & the chance to further his career, and now-after all of these years-it's gotten where it is today!
2) You or your child are so much better as an actor, and so much further along than you were last year. Don't you want these casting directors to see how much you have grown so they might keep you in their mind for projects coming up this pilot season
3) Every time you or your child gets in front of someone, the more invested they are in their career. They begin to notice their growth & start to love my students, which I think is easy...because most of them are the best people in the world! I mean it!

Come join our Adult Classes. It is a mixed level class with all kinds of wonderful, fun people who come to this class every week in various stages of training-some with a lot, some with none at all. We started the class out about two years ago just for fun & have developed some very serious actors in the class including TWO adult actors who've obtained agent representation from the Kim Dawson Agency from being in the seminars. We experience that quite a bit with our kid/teens & young adults, but this was the first time that our adults are being taken seriously & we are so happy.  There are also those who take the adult class for fun or to find out what their children are learning in class.
Think about it and come check it out.             SPOTS AVAILABLE HERE!

Hi Actors, Actresses and those who love them!

What an AMAZING 2015 our studio in Lewisville, Texas has had!!!!

Here is a recap of some of the biggest highlights!!

The first group are students who booked from the studio when they were IN classes right now!

The last group is our Actors who have moved to L.A. and are soaring out there!

PRESENT STUDENTS WHO HAVE BOOKED BIG FILMS & T.V. SHOWS IN 2015:

We are so excited for Master student BRYCE GHEISAR!!!

(see pics below)

We have launched our next Disney Star!

Bryce Gheisar had such an unbelievable year beginning this summer with a starring role for a SAG feature  which was filmed in Austin, Texas. It's called

"Into the Who Knows". Then, he filmed a pilot for Disney called "WALK THE PRANK" which got picked up to series, so now he is moving to LA this week to begin filming the 13-18 episodes where he is one of four leads! It is scheduled to premiere on April Fools' Day on DISNEY XD! After filming the pilot, Bryce THEN booked a lead in a huge project called "A Dog's Purpose" WITH STEPHEN SPIELBERG'S STUDIO (DREAMWORKS!)  THAT is what a call one FABULOUSLY Successfully Blessed Year! #TalentSkillTeamOpportunity

DODGE PRINCE was slated to film 13 WEEKS ON a REMAKE of

"MAGNIFICENT SEVEN" in Louisiana!...but they liked him so much, they asked  him to stay for another week!  This is a huge studio film with so many  A-list stars including:  Christ Pratt, Denzel Washington, Ethan Hawke, and more!  He even shot an improv scene with Chris Pratt & Denzel Washington. What a great memory! BTW- Chris Pratt is "Emmet from the Lego movie, The Star/Lord of "Guardians of the Galaxy"  & the star of "Jurassic World".  Also, the very prestigious & two-time academy award-winner Denzel Washington is in this movie as well. We can not WAIT to see this movie with another one of our Middle School Master students!

KIERA STRAUSS booked a lead role in the upcoming mini-series "Roots" -  An adaptation of Alex Haley's "Roots", chronicling the history of an African slave sold to America and his descendants.  She got to work with Forest Whitaker, Laurence Fishburne, Mario Van Peebles and Levar Burton (the original Kunta Kinte)! She was originally asked to do four weeks, but they added scenes & more lines for her, so she got to film for five weeks! Woo hoo!!

Here is a link to the IMDb for Roots: Roots IMDb

TRES ALLISON booked  12 episodes of "Smarter Than a 5th Grader" in 2015! Here he is stealing the show from Jimmy Fallon!

OLIVIA WELCH also had a fabulous 2015! Olivia (pictured below) booked the starring role in Nick Pilot "The Dunes Club"!

She also booked roles on the Emmy Award Winning series "Modern Family" and another big show that we still can't talk about, but is absolutely so cool! Olivia is a premiere student who has definantly paid her dues and is now reaping the rewards.

MALLORY MAHONEY

(pictured below) booked a Disney Movie called "Adventures in Babysitting".

MATTHEW MCCANN (pictured below) booked a lead role in the Pilot:

"The Diva, The Doc, & the Jock"! It is super cute & he got to work with some dynamite actors! Check out the video here:

http://www.imdb.com/video/user/vi1477423897

MATTHEW also booked a prestigious recurring voiceover role in American Dad!..which is a huge deal because he's gotten down to the last 3 people & usually, a 35 year old woman who has 8 pages of credits get the part!

LISANDRA ORTEGA (pictured below) booked a guest star role on American Crime on ABC!

CONNER STADDON booked a guest star role on "From Dusk Till Dawn"! Here he is pictured below with his intestines hanging out! Yuck! But, we are so proud of Conner!

SAWYER BELL (below left) and

GAVIN CASELEGNO

both booked parts in "Vampire Diaries"! Different Episodes filmed months apart! Way to go boys!

AMBER ALVAREZ booked several episodes of American Crime!

TANNER FONTANA booked the movie "Camp Cool Kids" with CD Joey Paul Jensen who came here and did a workshop for the studio in August this past year. He also booked a movie "Cut To The Chase" & has a recurring role on "The Originals".

FROY GUTIERREZ booked a recurring role on "Bella and the Bulldogs" playing the love interest of Bella (AKA: Brec Bassinger former master student) and then, booked a role on "The Goldbergs". How cool is it that he booked two shows where I have master & premiere as the regulars on that show!  (Former master student Brec is on "Bella and the Bulldogs & former Premiere Master student

Hayley Orrantia is a regular on "The Goldbergs")

*************************************************************************

FORMER MASTER/PREMIERE STUDENTS WHO BOOKED BIG FILMS & TV SHOWS IN L.A.

THOMAS MANN 's movie "Me, Earl, and the Dying Girl" has gotten national acclaims including winning the two most prestigious awards at Sundance this past year, and  whom VARIETY MAGAZINE wrote that "Thomas Mann is one of 10 who should be "in Play" for the Oscar"! WOW! Just WOW!!

CODY LINLEY, who had booked the starring role in the film "Hoovey", was nominated for "Best actor in a feature film" at the Burbank Film Festival in September 2015 & the movie won "Best feature film"!!! It is one of several film festivals where "Hoovey" has won first place in the feature film category. Cody was also offered a reality show  this past month from a major network  in which he said no to so that he can continue working on being a serious actor. Cody is pictured below with his Movie family which included Patrick Warburton, Alyson Stoner and Lauren Holly.

2015 was a great year for KATIE SARIFE! She booked the move "Dark Pledge", a pilot called " The Curse of the Fuentes Women", and the Made-for-TV movie "Cleveland Abduction" (pictured below). Katie came back to teach at the studio for Holiday Camp and is here this week!

CALEB PIERCE
booked a recurring role on ABC's "The Real O'Neals" airing March 2nd! YAY!!!!! We can not wait to see it! (Caleb is ALSO back at the studio this week teaching and aiding and doing the karaoke/lunch this week! We love Caleb!

MACK WHITE & ROBERT HAYES booked the movie "Carter High"! I was so happy to see my premiere master students in such an important film based on a true story. They use to do scenes together in class all of the time. How cool that they were able to be a movie together!

BREC BASSINGER's awesome Nick show came out in 2015 and just finished filming the second season: "Bella and the Bulldogs"!

JT NEAL booked an episode of "BEST FRIENDS WHENEVER" on Disney Channel! This is in addition to roles on "Haunted Hathawys" and "Lab Rats"! He was also in Alex Yonks' film with Belle Shouse.

BELLE SHOUSE

booked a lead on ABC's "SECRETS AND LIES"! It was unbelievable & amazing! She played the sweet, innocent little girl in tears so well & then, it was revealed that she was really a sociopath. I was sooo proud of her! Let me just say those Film 6 Sociopath scenes came in handy for THIS character! WOO HOOO!

HAYLEY ORRANTIA is on her 3rd season as a regular on  ABC's "The Goldbergs" as Erica Goldberg! It's such a funny show & she is hilarious in it!

MASON DYE  (pictured below, left) has joined the cast of "FINDING CARTER" on MTV Tuesdays at 9pm.

Mason is a former master student/aid at my studio who moved to L.A. and went from "Teen Wolf" to "Finding Carter".

Anne Winters (Pictured above) is on her third season of "TYRANT" & was a regular on another pilot called "Wicked City".

LOGAN MILLER had a nationwide release of his movie "Scouts and Zombies"!

REED WILLIAMS booked a recurring role on TNT's "The Last Ship"!

What a wonderful year we've had for our people at the studio! I'm so proud.

Who knows what 2016 will hold!?!

Cathryn Sullivan

Come join our Adult Classes. It is a mixed level class with all kinds of wonderful, fun people who come to this class every week.
