HI there Actors, Actresses &
Those who love them,

SPRING Classes are coming out late this session because I've been busy with the Premiere of "AFTER" this past week which I produced!
We shot two casts doing the same script and resulted in two fabulous films. The director and I will be meeting next week making decisions about what Film festivals they(Above is My Staff 2019!)
will be submitted to. We also had Nickelodean callbacks this week & one of my days was filled with 12 hr coaching sessions with no lunch break & I STILL couldn't get everyone in!! I was very proud of how many of my students had callbacks, but I certainly was not surprised.Hard work produces RESULTS and REWARDS!

GOOD NEWS!CLASSES BEGIN THE LAST WEEK OF FEBRUARY AND
REGISTRATION FOR CLASSES WILL BE THIS NEXT TUESDAY February 12th AT 7PM!The Winter/Spring Session's weekly classes will begin the last week of February! .........AND YES! There will be seminars, but those won't be on the calendar yet because one is being negotiated right now, however I wanted to get the class information up right away so we can get this session started!

One of my STAR's -DEBBY RYAN's Momma is coming to do a Parent Seminar this session on March 31st at 3pm. DEBBY RYAN got her start on Disney with "Suite Life on Deck" and was the Star of Disney's "Jessie". Debby is on "Insatiable" now, did a movie with Melissa McCarthy that came out a few months ago, and is producing a lot of things right now! Debby's momma, Sandra Ann has been heavily involved with her daughter's decisions and it's made for a fantastic career! Plan on Finding out how she did it
March 31st! (This workshop will not be up to register for yet, but mark your calendars!) .

THERE ARE WEEKEND WORKSHOPS HAPPENING THIS MONTH THAT YOU CAN SIGN UP FOR RIGHT NOW!There are a few classes happening before the weekly classes begin, so you might think about getting one more session in before we begin weekly sessions. The classes this weekend (Feb. 8-10/Film 2/4 & Mixed Levels) is a
full class with a huge waiting list, but there is another session the following weekend called "MOST LEVELS" that has almost all levels except for Film 4, and there are still 3 spots left in that class.(That class will include Film 2, Film 5, Film 6, New Master 1 & New Master 2 and Master students).
Why not take one more session and go up one more level before the weekly sessions begin?! Also, there is still space in our Film 1 and Film 3 class coming up this coming weekend. If you are thinking about starting in our program, THIS weekend is a great time to start. You could take Film 1 this weekend, get into my Film 2 on Thursdays for weekly classes and that will qualify you for the workshops that are happening this session!

***NEW RULE: IF ANY STUDENT RECOMMENDS A NEW STUDENT TO FILM 1 AND THAT STUDENT TAKES FILM 1, HE/SHE WILL RECEIVE A $20 CREDIT ON THEIR NEXT CLASS OR SEMINAR! (IF YOU RECOMMEND 3 PEOPLE, YOU WILL GET $60 OFF!)

***NEW CLASS!!! I'VE DECIDED I WANT TO TEACH A NEW PRE-AC CLASS THIS SESSION FOR 4-5 YEAR OLDS!!- I had so much fun this last session with my AC1/AC2 class & saw so many results from that class when it came to bookings, I decided to try the same idea for our 4-5 year olds by teaching a Pre-AC 1 and Pre-AC 2 class this session! This will be the first time I have taught this class in many years, but like Amy pointed out to me- the last time I taught AC 1 & AC 2 before this last session- Bryce Gheisar, Mallory Mahoney, Matt McCann, Liv & Gigi Haynes all came from the class I taught, and they are all STARS now!!! It is time for us to try that with our 4-5 year olds. How cool would it be to be one step ahead of everyone else their age when it comes to booking TV & Films!?
Pre-AC 1 and PRE-AC 2 is usually only offered as a summer class and this session &
I am only taking 12 students during this session. We are keeping the price at $199. at this time.

ARE YOU A NEW STUDENT TO OUR PROGRAM OR KNOW SOMEONE WHO WOULD BE GREAT IN OUR SERIOUS PROGRAM?
DO YOU COME FROM ANOTHER PROGRAM IN THE AREA?Are you thinking about becoming a new student to our program? Our program has been around for almost two decades and has launched many stars and working actors in Films and TV shows.
What is different about our program?! Our program gets results! (Check out our Hall of Fame! It's impressive! (Our Master Students don't just book commercials. They book Starring and Leading roles in Studio Feature Films and Starring roles in TV shows! Look at our "Hall of Fame" or check out the website where I am on Selena Gomez's E-Hollywood Story or written about in
Demi Lovato's Momma's book "Falling With Wings" where she champions me as someone who helped her daughter become a stronger human being in this business).

Recently, I've been asked by several people about how they could be placed in our program after going to other programs/studios in the area...They all want to know where they would be placed. (Do they have to start at Film 1, etc.) The answer is different with each person. If you are wondering about this, do not hesitate to contact me directly by my emailCathysully2@gmail.comand we can discuss.
IF YOU ARE A CURRENT STUDENT AND REFER SOMEONE TO US FOR FILM 1, YOU WILL GET A $20. OFF YOUR CLASS OR SEMINAR!(Ask them to be sure and give your name as a referral so you can get the credit!)

MASTER STUDENTS!It is pilot season and with pilot season comes a lot of taped auditions. It is a crazy time,so this is the most important time for you to be growing as an actor. If you finally get down to a screen test or chemistry read, you want to be able to be sharp, compete and land that show or movie!

There will be Regular master classes happening as well as our Special master intensive classes divided by age range. The master intensives are more expensive, but will have less students (only 14 students allowed) and has almost double the amount of time
(14 students, at least 21 hours instead of 14 hours and 20 students). We have a chance to work with students with more in-depth study of each character, more one-one-one coaching on close-ups (which is a skill all of it's own) with "on-location shootings" to help my students become super comfortable with being on sets. I love my Regular Classes too. It's just enough time to keep your skills in tact and learn while being with their people (Dreamers/Artists/Actors/Actresses).

Actors are always either growing and moving forwardsorgetting rusty and going backwards. I have even added a "Make-up day" just for you guys to have an extra day to finish up your work this session-knowing there could be a day that you aren't able to do everything and need a chance to make it up. I promise you, the things we work on this session will only help you in getting callbacks, chemistry reads, screen tests and bookings!!

***NEW!! A BIG PRIZE IS BEING OFFERED TO THE BEST ACTOR/ACTRESS THIS SESSION, TOO!Also, during this session,TWO scholarships will be given out for this summer's MASTER FILM CAMP where actors get to be in a produced & edited film Produced by Cathryn & Directed by Shaun Cunningham! We just premiered our last summer's film this past week called "AFTER" & many master students on that set were quoted as "It was the best thing that has ever happened in my life"! It really is the most fun I've ever had teaching a class as well. We ALL want more of these!
Prizes are going to go to the "MOST IMPROVED" Master Actor/Actress and ALL Master Classes will have a chance to receive this PRIZE as well as "BEST ACTOR or ACTRESS of SPRING 2019".
EACH WILL RECEIVE A $100. SCHOLARSHIP towards the FILM CAMP/SUMMER 2019!

CODY LINLEY is coming into town during Spring Break to offer classes!
YAY! Cody is coming back during Spring Break and has a variety of classes to teach. I love that he has a passion for these things- Voiceover, Improvisation and he's offering a NEW course on Screen-Writing! There is Voice-over & Improv Class (Our students need help with both of these!!!) and a free lunch offered both days to those who take both of these classes. Cody's very popular classes: "Casting for an Actor's Perspective" is back, and his "Advanced Character Development Class"! He also has a few private lessons available for either coaching or consulting. Why not take advantage of this and get him alone to focus just on YOU? He is a great coach and he became a huge star by the age of 15 years old...enough of a Star that he got to be a "Star" on "Dancing with the Stars" (7th season) where he won fourth place and beat out people like Kim Kardashian and Susan Lucci and got to pick his partner, Julianne Hough... so TRUST ME! There is much to be learned from Cody! (Below is Cody Liley with his SAG screeners on "Insta"!)

Guess what?! DEBBY RYAN'S momma IS COMING TO teach A PARENT SEMINAR FOR US MARCH 31st!We won't have this class up for registration yet, but I want you to save the date. Sandra Ann Ryan has done all kinds of things to help Debby become the star she is today! Debbie is "Jessie" on Disney's "Jessie" and is on "Insatiable" right now and is producing several things right now!

I am excited about our new session and look forward to seeing my Kids!

CLASSES FOR OUR YOUNGER STUDENTS:
There are three classes for our little ones. There is a NEW CLASS for Pre-AC 1 and Pre-AC 2 students for 4-5 year olds. We have never had a Pre-AC class during a Spring Session. They are usually held only in the Summer And this is the first time I will be teaching it. I had so much fun teaching my AC 1 students this last session and so many of them booked so many things they went out on (Including one who got to do six commercials in JAPAN!), so I decided to try going even younger.

There is also an AC 1/AC2 class (Acting for Camera 1 & Acting for Camera 2) that meets on
Thursday afternoons at 3:50pm-5:20. I SOO enjoyed the AC 1 class I had this last session. I'm looking forward to getting most of you back this next session. There were so many of those students who booked and got immediate results! The third class I teach for this age range is for my AC 3, AC 4, AC 5 (Acting for Camera 3 ,etc) and up. This class is on Saturday mornings whereI will only take EIGHT students. I begin to get These kids ready to go into the FILM program early. It is more expensive than the other classes, but totally worth it.

Parker Weathersbee is a great example of someone who did the program this way and entered the Film classes early. He booked a six month stint in New York for a traveling Broadway play. PARENT SEMINAR 101

Sunday, March 31, 2019 (2-4pm)

$55

Registration NOW OPEN at www.cathrynsullivan.com

Parent Seminars - Why they ARE IMPORTANT
If your child dream’s it, YOU (the parent) must master (understand) it, SO THEY CAN DO IT!
You know the saying, “It takes a village to raise a child”, well it takes a TRIBE to raise an actor!
Surely, you want to understand and help navigate one of the most important endeavors your child
may take on right? Part of knowing is understanding and understanding is learning. Parent
seminars are available tools for you (the parents) to take advantage of. To learn from the
experience of others and to gain the knowledge of this ever changing industry. Such as: the
difference between an agent and a manager? When is your child ready for an agent?, do you know
what tax write off’s you have? how important is training? the benefits of seminars? agency
contracts? what is pilot season? what is episodic season? AND SO SO SO MUCH MORE. Most
parents of successful young actors have attended and participated in these seminars. Your child
may be the driving force behind this journey but YOU (the parent) are the one behind the wheel, shouldn’t you know where you are going?

PARENT SEMINAR I:
Finding an Agent
Etiquette in the business
Headshots (theatrical vs commercial look)
Resume (template samples)
Prepare for Seminars
What are sides? Scripts?

Classes/Seminars 2018!

HI there Actors, Actresses & Those who love them,

I want to start by saying I only give out these newsletters once every 2 months. I am not Macy's. I don't put out these newsletters even once a week, so what is in this newsletter is important information that could dramatically effect you or your child's career. Please Read it! I realize It will take you a few minutes to read it, but imagine how long it took us to write it!

There are opportunities that come along in a person's lif e that can change your life forever. I am offering you one of those moments right now- with these seminars that I am producing at my studio December 1st-2nd. I believe in it so much that I am willing to spend a fortune of my own money to fly in and put up these exceptional, intelligent, ambitious, special, genius, quality human beings who can help educate you and touch you or your child's life! I believe in it that strongly! Meet the players in the L.A. market that will help you up you or your child's game into something you didn't even dream could happen! It doesn't matter if you are just getting started or if you've been doing this for awhile.
THIS weekend December 1-2 can literally change your life!

I have the pleasure to bring my favorite L.A. agent in the world to you December 1 & 2 Jennifer along with what could possibly be the top two managers in the industry- Michael Hepburn & Matt Shelton. Along with these, I will be bringing a wonderful Public Relations Director for acting- Publicist Brandi George and a Public Relations (P.R) person, consultant and music manager Sera Roadnight (more on Sera here: https://www.magictreeproductions.net).

Jennifer is also one of the best human beings I know on this Earth. She's made several of my master students- stars, leading actors and working actors. She (along with Michael Hepburn, who is also coming that same weekend) is the one who made Thomas Mann an actor who works constantly. He is the star of "Lady and the Tramp" that is filming in Atlanta right now (He is the Tramp), was a lead in "Kong: Skull Island" and is known mostly for playing Me in "Me, Earl and The Dying Girl" & the starring role in "Project X". Jen also reps Logan Miller who is also a consistently working actor (Did you see him on 8 episodes of "Walking Dead" last year as well as his supporting role in "Love, Simon" with the beginning of his career being the star of "I'm in the Band". Belle Shouse also is a master student she picked up who also works consistently (She booked her first TV series "Secrets and Lies" where she played a sociopath and is a lead in "Queen America" filming now). Katie Sarife has booked gobs of great shows including "Supernatural", a lead in "Youth & Consequences" and just booked one of the leads in a big studio film called "Annabelle 3". Sahana Srinivasan is another one of Jen's clients who booked her on Netflix "Brainchild" which is coming out this weekend. Sahana is going to U.T. in Austin and Jen helped her get this project with Producer Pharell Williams (From the song "Happy") in New York where it shot for 4 months & even went so far as to make sure Sahana was given a safe place to live close to the studio while being able to go back to U.T. without much loss in credits for college!

I'm telling you- there is so much more to being an agent that Jennifer does that I have not seen in any other agent in L.A. You need to know her even if you have another agent! She will be in the "Big Seminar" on Sunday and will be offering Improvisation Classes on Saturday. She likes to see if students can "Think on their Feet" since that skill is needed in L.A. so much!
Jennifer will be teaching Improv on Saturday, Dec 1st and will be in the Big workshop on Sunday,
Dec 2nd.

Times for Improv Classes are 9am for AC & Young Film, 9:30-11:30am for Film Students,
12-2:30 for Middle School Master Students and 2:30-5pm for High School Master/College/Premiere Master Students & Adults.
Michael Hepburn is one of the smartest, savvy Talent managers in this business. While other managers are helping get appointments for movies going on right now (He does that too, of course), he is setting up coffees with his client with a director who Michael believes will get a movie down the line. This actually happened on "Me, Earl and the Dying Girl". Michael had heard that this particular director was probably going to be cast as director on "Me, Earl and the Dying Girl", so he set up a coffee with his client (& master student/master teacher at my studio) to discuss being the star before the director was even given the job! That was Thomas Mann and as you all know who know anything about this movie, Thomas eventually got that job. THAT move was pure genius!!!
Michael will be in the "Big seminar" Workshop both Saturday & Sunday, Dec 1-2 along with
Kim Dawson Agent, Dee Ann Vernon & Campbell agent, Diana Dyer.

This will be Matt Shelton's first time to the studio! Matt is considered to be one of the best up-and-coming managers in L.A. right now. Everyone is watching and talking about him because of his rise to the forefront so quickly.
Check out this article about he and his partner in "DEADLINE": ABOUT MATT SHELTON
We are so excited about him being a new addition to our studio!
Matt Shelton will be in the "Big Seminar" workshop both Saturday & Sunday, Dec 1-2 along with
Kim Dawson Agent Dee Ann Vernon & Campbell Agent Diana Dyer.

Brandi George is a Senior Account Executive at Advantage PR (She's a Publicist) and will do one session on P.R., when to hire a publicist and why, what to expect when you become a star, how to handle the public including reporters, How to handle Red Carpet, She is offering parent training on PR, covering topics like: interviewing skills, social media training tips, what a publicist does vs. what they don't do for you, how to handle overzealous fans in person and online, how to be professional without looking over-polished,etc. Brandi will have a Parent Workshop on Saturday, Dec. 1st from 5-7pm where you will be able to ask her all types of questions concerning P.R. Look for it. This is a wonderful time for you to learn about this area. When it's happening to you, things are moving fast. Learn about it NOW so that you already understand what it is and how it works instead of getting a crash course when fame and work is actually happening!
Brandi's PR class will be on Saturday, Dec 1st at 5-7pm. $55

Sera Roadnight is a Publicist, Music Manager and Consultant. She will be taking 30 minute-one hour meetings with my students who want more information and questions answered about how the music industry runs and how they can help themselves or their child in the music industry. Sera has recently been helping Master student Trevor Douglas with the various stages of the launch of his new music. She has helped increase his followers and listeners by a ridiculous amount, set him up with songwriters, secured national press for the release of his EP and has just signed him as a management client. Sera will be taking meetings in my office all day on Sunday, Dec 2 every 30 minutes and you can sign up on registration day to take a meeting with her.
$65 for a 30 minute private consult on Sunday, Dec 2.

Privates with Cody Linley: Be sure to take advantage of doing Skype or Zoom privates with Cody Linley in preparation of the upcoming seminar!! Several of my students do 1/2 of the lesson doing IMPROV and the other 1/2 of the lesson working on the scene. It's smart! BONUS!! You can skip ahead at buff ups, and go to the front of the line, if you do a private with Cody in which you work on your seminar script!
You can email Codylinley@gmail.com for details. $125/hr.

Got HATERS?
A Parent/Student Workshop:
Hosted by Cathryn Sullivan with special guest
Life Coach Carmen Studer
This is a workshop designed Specifically to help actors navigate bullies, haters, “rejection" and joy suckers.
Come along as your young actor gain skills, tools and attitudes that can change their lives.
Actors have unique lives. So they need unique answers to some of the issues they face.
Has your actor been:
  • Bullied?
  • Unable to fully express their creativity without fear?
  • Knocked off center by other peoples comments and actions?
  • “Rejected” ?
  • Fearful?
  • Gifted with emotions, but unsure how to utilize them?
  • "Hated" just for being talented?
  • Struggling with jealousy or jealous school mates?
  • Asking important life questions but not listening to your advice and answers?
Join us Dec 9th @1pm-3:30pm for an open and interactive discussion (with a game style twist).
We will dive straight in with an Improv Game custom made for your young actors.
  1. Your kiddos may volunteer from the audience to do a 30 second to one-minute Improv Scene based on a card they randomly choose.
  2.  The cards will describe real life situations many actors face. (We want to invite parent suggestions for scenes. So please feel free to submit any Improv ideas for scenes your kids have faced or are facing to the front desk. We will add this to the list Cathryn has already created so that your scenes remain anonymous.)
  3. Your actor then improvs the submitted scene in front of us all.
  4. Once the 1 minute Improv scene ends Cathryn and Carmen will make their comments and soon after that we will open to your Q&A.
  5. Repeat until we have all laughed & elevated our perceptions so that we are ready to take them out into the real world with grace and perfection.
This is a workshop created FOR YOUR input and benefit.
It is our goal to open minds and hearts in order to empower young actors and their families.

Join us! We try to speak to all of the parts of our Actors' souls.

BIG NEWS!!
The Casting Director of the Emmy-Award Winning T.V. series "This is Us"JoshEinshohnis coming to the studio to teach a workshop December 16-17 with Emmy nominated producer ("Casting By")KateLacey-Kiley!Kate's Imdb

WhyTake a Seminar??
It maytakeseveralseminarsbefore you (or your child) are really comfortable being in front of the industry guests. I began having these powerful people come to the studio originally because I wanted my son, Cody Linley to know & start feeling comfortable with high level powerful people in this business. I loved that he was getting to know them, that they were getting to know him. They were able to see Him grow and saw that he got better year after year so that they could vouch for himwithoutasingle doubt in their mind when it came time to booking him! Also, the Casting Directors and Agents felt invested in his career! They felttheywereapart of his career & I liked that!

I have several students who when they finally "let it go" and started becoming comfortable, THAT is when the magic happens! Don't force it! Everyone is looking forashort cut. There is no short cut to this business. You have to work at it...one by one...climbing up that long ladder, and there is no better way for our students to understand what it takes to be able to handle the pressure that an actor will be under once they getacallback, chemistry read, screen test or the actual job onaT.V. or Film set. Theseseminarsare nearest to that experience than anything I have ever seen and with Kind, Loving Human Beings as well as high level Powerful Industry People.
WHAT DOES THE SEMINAR PACKAGE INCLUDE?
  • STEP 1: The student comes toa PICK OUT SCRIPT DAY where we pick the right script for them. We go over several options. If your student has a script that they have done well with in class and would like to do a particular scripts that he or she has in their folder, then you can email Cathrynfor approval at:cathysully2@gmail.com.

  • STEP 2: The student will come toa BUFF UP where an aide is assigned to them to make them talk over character ideas and thoughts for the scene. Then, they work on the scene where they are given notes. After that, I watch them intensely and give them detailed notes on how to really come through on their superimportantpicked-for-themseminarscene for theseminar.... ALL of this isapart of theseminarpackage &abig part of this hugelearning process! Every part of getting ready foraseminaris quitealearning experience as well asachance for them to get to know some veryimportantpowerful industry guests!

  • STEP 3: The student comes to the seminar with copies of their script, resume/headshots, and will perform their scene in front of industry guests. (The exact amount of head shots etc change per seminar, so that will be a separate email).

  • STEP 4: The student will receive evaluations from industry guests- Not only the Casting Director and Producer, but also the local agents from both Kim Dawson Agency & Campbell Agency.

FORMER STUDENTS & MOMS SPEAK OUT FOR WHAT SEMINARS DID FOR THEIR CHILDREN:

Howdy folks! This is Caleb Pierce :) Living in LA has been a dream of mine for a looong time, and I am so excited to say I am finally doing it! I'm happy to report there are amazing students from Cathryn's who are living out here already and who make this crazy city feel like home. Of course, I still get newsletters from Cathryn's Studio cause I love to stay in the know, and I am reminded that seminars are in full swing (WOOP WOOP!). That got me thinking about the seminars I've done in the past, and started conversations with some of my friends about how the seminars have helped us achieve or get closer to our dreams! For those of you who are nervous or unsure about seminars, I hope this will be the boost you need take that bold step and be in a seminar!

- Caleb Pierce
(Caleb Pierce had a guest starring role on "Grey's Anatomy" and "Big Bang Theory" this year and had a recurring role on "The Real O'Neals" and "Insecurity" last year. He also came back one week in the summer to teach a few Mixed Level Classes)

"Many people ask me how Bryce got on "Walk the Prank" or in the movies he has coming out soon. I always tell them that there is no magic formula except he went to class at Cathyn's and took every class andseminarhe could. He grew as an actor each time he was at the studio and was signed by both his Dallas and LA agents asaresult of the seminars. He also got his LA manager from the seminars at Cathy's! We have the BEST Team thanks to Cathryn Sullivan's Acting for Film!!! Thank you Cathy!"

- Nicole Gheisar (Mother of Bryce Gheisar)
(Bryce Gheisar is a regular on Disney's "Walk the Prank", has a supporting lead role in "Wonder" (Plays the bully) & "A Dog's Purpose". Bryce will be attending the Tuesday morning Home School Class this session with other stars like Mallory Mahoney of "Bunk'd" to keep their skills sharpened.)

"I started taking Cathryn's seminars as soon as I could. Jennifer saw me at my first seminar and became interested in signing me, but she wanted to see me in another one to know that I was consistent. She then signed me and I've been with her ever since. I absolutely love having her as my agent and am so grateful that Cathy brings in such great people to come see all of her talented students. They have also helped me build a repertoire with casting directors who constantly bring me in the room. I wish there were seminars out here as good as Cathy's -- you get more attention and time to really learn from the guests in Texas. I wouldn't be where I am without Cathryn and those seminars."

- Katie Sarife
"Without Cathryn's seminars, I wouldn't be in the position that I'm in now.

It provided me two agents, a manager, and opportunities I wouldn't have had before."

- Mason Dye
(Mason has had nice large parts on "Teen Wolf" "Finding Carter" and the upcoming "The Wrong Son".
"The seminars are the best way I've ever seen to get in front of some incredibly influential people. LA is such a tough town, but I was able to come out here already having an agent (who I met at the seminar) and already knowing casting directors! So I had such a big leg up on everyone else who had never had that opportunity. I've seen people driving themselves crazy trying to figure out how to get in front of LA agents, and I was able to do it in the safety of my favorite acting studio with absolutely no pressure! I recommend that all actors who are serious about this business and serious about having a good foundation when they come to LA take EVERY SEMINAR OPPORTUNITY THAT CATHY GIVES! She has never had someone there that didn't matter. Every time you are able to get in front of someone like the people that Cathy invites, you are taking another huge step in your career. Every seminar counts. I have the best representation in the world. I really believe that. And I wouldn't have had it if it weren't for Cathryn's seminars."

- JT Neal
(J T Neal is on Netflix "Sierra Burgess is a Loser" and is a lead in a Big Network Series coming out in the Fall with Lake Bell).

"I can't even remember how many seminars I've taken with Cathy, but after every seminar I always came out a stronger actress and stronger person. Practice, passion and dedication is key and inserting yourself into a situation that is out of your comfort zone isn't a skill you can master over night. By taking seminars starting in the film classes, I was subconsciously preparing myself for all of the future seminars I'd take. Seminars are different than regular classes, and you have to practice them just like you'd practice doing a scene in class. Try doing the best for yourself. Odds are, if you do your homework, prepare, and come in ready to have a great time, you'll impress the people in the room by just being YOU!"

- Alex Yonks
(Alex Yonks is the Associate to the Showrunner (Head Boss) on "Big Bang Theory" and helps also with "Young Sheldon".
"It's kinda funny when people ask me how to get auditions and how to find representation in LA. I have to tell them that I honestly don't know! I had the luxury of meeting people at seminars at Cathryn Sullivan's studio. It was really cool because these powerful people would come to my studio - the studio that felt like home - and spend HOURS with us. Not just 10 minutes like an audition. So I really got to know the people she would bring in and they also got to know me. Plus I could do a scene that I knew I was strong in. I learned so much and she brings so many different people. Agents, managers, casting directors, even studio executives. No one in LA gets studio executives to come to them!! It's unheard of. That's how recognizable her studio is in LA. I've even gone back to TEXAS after being in LOS ANGELES to take seminars to meet the people she brings in! The biggest thing I took from Cathy's teaching is confidence. That's very important in LA. When you get to spend quality time with big wig/important people... you realize that... That they are people. It makes the whole LA experience less intimidating which makes you more confident. Confidence is what's going to get you an agent and a job. I'm really thankful to Cathy for giving me a platform to hone in my skills as an actor but to also grow in my confidence in my acting."

- Noell Coet
Cathy brings in amazing industry guests for seminars to work with our kiddos right here in Texas! I have signed my daughter up for numerous seminars over the last few years. I know that because Kiera has been able to meet and learn from these professionals, there has been a positive impact on her accomplishments as an actress. Kiera enjoys seminars because they are challenging and fun at the same time. I would highly recommend you sign up your child so that they can experience the growth that happens as a result of consistently attending workshops in addition to classes. We have been so blessed to belong to the Cathryn Sullivan acting family, this studio is where the magic happens!"

~ Danielle Strauss (Mother of Kiera Strauss)
(Kiera had a very large role in the Emmy-award wining TV mini-series "Roots".

September 16

Hi Actors and Actresses and Parents who love them!

Today is REGISTRATION for Fall Classes at 1:30pm. Phone lines will be opened at noon if you need some help or information.

There are a few changes from the newsletter  that went out last week:
1) We didn't have enough hours on the Tuesday night Middle School Master Class at 5pm, so we added some more hours, so that there are at least 21 hours including two Monday night classes. (Thank you, Laura Alford!)

2) Also,There will be an "Out-of-Town Customized Master Intensive class (Pg-13 & R-rated)" sometime during the Fall, but I'm waiting to set that to put in some other things being negotiated right now depending on our Guests availability, so hang on. In the meantime, we have added a
"Holiday Out-Of-Town Customized Master Intensive Pg-13 & R-rated" that is scheduled between two days after Christmas and the day before
New Year's Eve (Dec 27-Dec 30) so THAT would be a nice Christmas Present for some lucky Actor or Actress! Also, If you get into that class and decide you would rather have the Master Intensive that we set during the Fall, you will get first dibs on that class before it goes out to the Other Students at the Studio.*

3) A "Pick out Script" Day has also been added to the calendar for
October 8th from 4-5pm for AC Students, 5-7 and 7-9pm for Film and Master Students to pick out a script for the "THIS IS US" Casting Director JOSH EINSOHN  and Emmy Award-Winning Producer Kate Lacey-Kiley  Workshop. We will put THAT workshop up to get into after we handle the Class registration so it is easier to figure out who qualifies. (Students must be in class to be able to take seminars/workshops with our Prestigious and Powerful Industry Guests).

If you didn't get a chance to read the newsletter this past week, it is copied again down below to make it easier for you to remember what you might want to sign up for today. Try to get on the computer a little before 1:30pm to make sure your child gets in.

All classes will be "Requests" except for Film 1 and AC 1 classes until we see if every student qualifies.  We will begin working on the Requests as soon as they come in, so some classes are filled within a few minutes of registration, however there are lots of choices of classes this time, so I feel like we will have space for my students as long as you register on time. Now you have to be by a computer. My students Mom's use to have to stand in line for hours to register (Back when I was in Coppell) so at least, you can register for classes in the comfort of your home!

Many call the studio "My Second Home" and I believe that the magic of our studio just keeps getting brighter and brighter. I thank God for that "magic" and all of the blessings he keeps giving my studio and my students. I believe God wants us to help change the world and we are already doing it. Let's keep on making that happen!

I will see you soon!

Passionately,
Cathryn Sullivan

NEWSLETTER FROM THIS PAST WEEK:

WE HAD A FANTASTIC AMAZING SUMMER SESSION: First of all, during this summer session, we had 32 classes (7 of those were master intensives with 21-24 hours each), 16 buff-ups, two wonderful seminars (with six sessions per seminar with two casting directors, an L.A. manager, two of the best agents from Kim Dawson Agency and Campbell Agency in the Southwest Region and another Atlanta agent)! We also produced a short film with two casts that Writer/Director Shaun Cunningham & I wrote (Well, Ok...I helped with the story outline...He wrote the entire screenplay). We double cast the film and then- we filmed both casts in 104 degree weather over two long, but fun adventuresome days.  It is now almost edited with an October red carpet event planned. The director, Shaun Cunningham, who has won many awards over the years for his films has strongly suggested that this film is going to end up winning awards at a bunch of film festivals as good as it is looking! I believe him! It was magical... and we just meant for it to be a learning project, but it is turning out to be so much more.
Check out our director/editor  Shaun Peter Cunningham

My staff was never better as we had the new Aides coming in learning and working side by side with my alumni aides about to leave to take their shot at the L.A. game.  However, I hope you noticed  some of THOSE Master teacher/Aides will still be coming back and working for us during this Fall session for a few weekend intensives
(See details on the class lists down below).
Trivia: Of course, one of the NEW aides I chose got a movie a few weeks after we started training him, and he is now filming in Canada for 3 months (Edison Grant). That exact thing happened the last time I hired some new aides too. I hired Noah Cottrell as a mini-aide and a few weeks later is when he booked "Skyscraper".
(Apparently, it is really good luck to be asked to be an aide at the studio). LOL
SUMMER SESSION 2018 was seriously the best summer session EVER!

FALL CLASSES! Fall Class registration is TODAY at 1:30pm (September 16). I've been listening to you. We have made a few changes and upgrades to the classes and studio which will be explained in detail down below.

WORKSHOPS! WE HAVE TWO GREAT WORKSHOPS PLANNED and several being negotiated right now!

We have our first workshop scheduled for October 20th-October 21st with
JOSH EINSOHN , casting director of  The T.V. hit series "THIS IS US" and  also
KATE LACEY-KILEY will be with us that same weekend in a 2-for-1 package. Kate is a fantastic Producer. In fact, she is in the process of producing a movie right now. Kate is the Emmy-Award winning Executive Producer of "Casting By" which you can watch on Netflix. It is a documentary about the world of Casting Directors. Before Kate was a producer, she was a casting director and executive at Disney. This will be the SECOND TIME that Kate & Josh have come to the studio. It is scheduled for October 20-21 and registration for that workshop will be forthcoming as soon as we get class registration done.

We also have a workshop for our girls called "How to Turn our Princesses into Queens!"  scheduled with Life Coach Carmen Studer for Sunday, November 11 at 1pm.

OTHER WORKSHOPS! There are other workshops we will be adding as well. Some of those are being negotiated right now, but I wanted to get the Class Schedule out now. More details on these will be coming including Jennifer who will be teaching Improv Classes, and Mitchell Gossett is considering teaching a few intensives. More details on that later.

EXCITING NEWS!
Former Master Teachers/Master  student THOMAS MANN and LOGAN MILLER  are planning on "giving back" to the studio, and are planning on doing a workshop for us during our Winter/Spring session. They were actually considering doing one THIS session when Thomas booked the starring role in the Live action film "Lady and the Tramp"  which is filming in Savannah,Georgia for several months right now.  Things are really popping for my students all over the world and I couldn't be more proud. (Click on their names and notice their kick butt resume's!)

UPGRADES AND CHANGES:
1)  WE ADDED A MASTER INTENSIVE CLASS FOR HOME SCHOOL STUDENTS
on Tuesday mornings from 10:30-1:30pm!
(We are Only taking 12 students for our first Home school Master Intensive EVER for the price of 14 students at this introductory offer at $635.)

2) I WILL TEACH AC 1 AND AC 2 for the first time in years!

Amy Haynes, my Website and Front Desk manager reminded me that the last time I taught AC 1/AC2 teacher, the class consisted of several students who are rock stars now...... literally! The last AC 1 class I taught had Liv and Gigi Haynes (NotUrGirlfrenz band), Bryce Gheisar (Regular on "Walk the Prank", "Wonder", "A Dog's Pupose") and Matt McCann (a regular on "Man with a Plan" in it's 3rd season where he plays Matt LeBlanc's son), SOOOO it worked out well last time this happened, so I hope to get some more special students in this NEW AC1/AC2 class.

*AC classes Or Acting for Camera Classes are for 6-9 year olds who want to try their hand at acting for film. We mainly work on Comedy scripts that are age- appropriate until they are ready to go into the more serious, film program.

3) OUR EQUIPMENT AND STUDIO HAVE HAD A MAKEOVER!
Over this past summer, we bought new floors for the studio including extremely padded carpeting for inside the studio rooms to help with any stunts the students might want to try in their scenes.  We got beautiful new couches and new 4K TV's & new 4K cameras. We also added expensive new lighting as well as a portable light and light reflectors for outside shoots for master intensives ,and brand new audio equipment including more lavalier microphones.  With the two brand new 4K TV monitors and with our new 4K cameras, the students look UNBELIEVABLY BEAUTIFUL! It's such a huge difference!
The TV's have been put on the wall, so we have more space to play!

4) Per several of your requests, We have moved ONE of the
REGULAR HIGH SCHOOL/COLLEGE MASTER CLASSES to Wednesday nights to give my HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE AGED STUDENTS A CHOICE of either Saturdays or Wednesdays.   High School/College Aged Students have a choice now of a 5-7pm Wednesday class or a Saturday 4-6:30pm class.

5) ONE ON ONES- I will have one on ones scheduled for Sunday, October 7th for those of you who want to discuss you or your child with me. Are you wondering how to navigate their career better and need more one on one time to discuss it with me, or want to know how your child is doing specifically and my recommendations to help them? Then, grab a one on one. They  will be in 30 minute segments beginning at 9:30am, Sunday, Oct 7th.

We are so excited about everything that has been happening at the studio and are looking forward to even bigger and better things happening the
Fall Season 2018!  I LOVE MY JOB and I am missing all of my babies today!
I can't wait to see them all again!

Check out the classes in detail below and then, we have a recap at the bottom of the newsletter for those of you who want a straight up list.

Love and Dreamers,
Cathryn Sullivan

AN INTRODUCTION TO OUR STUDIO FOR OUR NEW PEOPLE:  We are always looking for our next big star or working actor. If you think you or someone you love is a candidate for our serious acting studio where actors feel safe and at home, come check us out!

Our studio attracts serious actors and actresses from all over the country and even all over the world and we have never done any advertising in 18 years (9 years in Coppell, 9 years in Lewisville). We have had students who've worked the full program and have become master students who have come from Wisconsin, Tennessee, Florida, Illinois, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas and even California,Thailand and all over Texas (Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Beaumont, El Paso)!  Cathryn Sullivan and her studio have been featured in "Good Morning, Texas" , Selena Gomez's "E-Hollywood Story" and in Demi Lovato's Mom's book "Falling with Wings" where she is talked about as being a champion to Demi to help her become a stronger, better actress/person.

This program is one that Cathryn developed after being on over 100 sets with her sons and students along with what she learned from professional acting classes.  Her favorite coach was a student and intern of the famous Acting Coach Uta Hagen and a lot of her philosophy comes from her work. Some of Cathryn Sullivan's students have become huge stars  like Selena Gmez, Demi Lovato, Hayley Orrantia- The Goldbergs,
Thomas Mann- Kong: Skull Island, Me, Earl and the Dying Girl, Lady and the Tramp (He's the star...filming now in Savannah) and many are working actors who are becoming stars like Mallory Mahoney- Regular on third season of "Bunk'd" & "Adventures in Babysitting) , Matt McCann (who is a regular on "Man with a Plan" where he plays Matt LeBlanc's son),
Bryce Gheisar ("Walk the Prank", "Wonder", "A Dog's Purpose"),

Bryce Cass who plays 'Cyrus' on "13 Reasons Why" plus the studio boasts of having
4 out of the 5 leads in Facebook Watch's "Skam" including the main star for season 2, Kennedy Hermansen. Some of these will be taking classes this session while they are on Hiatus.

These students realize that doing this business takes years of dedication and commitment. What we are learning is the "Olympics of Acting". We are SERIOUS about Acting at our studio. Each class session represents seven weeks of work including working on the depth and range of your characters, learning how to actively listen, react and be affected, how to handle different types of comedy genres (Comedy network vs. feature film comedy vs. Disney channel or Disney feature film comedy- ALL different paces and styles), plus learning how to get into characters that are opposite your personality. There are group scenes, location shoots and master intensive classes which have less students and more hours for the really serious of students.

There are basically 4 types of classes at Cathryn Sullivan's Acting for Film:
1) AC classes - Acting for Camera classes are for the 6-9 year olds.
They are for the little actor. Comedy and nurturing their love for creating characters is the goal in these classes.
2) Lower to Intermediate Classes- These are our block classes (from Film 1-Film 6 and New Master 1 and New Master 2 classes). They are the rock solid structure that builds our actors into strong actors and human beings. ALL STUDENTS are required to take these series classes and each one is divided by RANK rather than AGE.
3) Regular Master Classes- Every session, we have a master classes that are grouped by AGE rather then RANK. Each session is new and different and Cathryn Sullivan designs each session to help with whatever the business is trending with right then or whatever she feels like her master students need work on.  These classes are around 14 hours with about 21 students each.
4) Master Intensive Classes-These Classes are the ultimate Cathryn Sullivan experience as there are only 14 students in these classes with at least 21 hours per session. Students get many takes and learn close-ups and work on location shoots outside the studio. (Last session, one student got 16 takes on one scene!)  The students also have the option to be sent their work by hightail where they can edit the scenes for Instagram/Social Media or reels for their managers/agents.

Master students also go into other lines of work including being agents,
Production Crew, Casting directors and more... We also have master students who chose other avenues in this business after being master students in the program including Alex Yonks who is head associate to show-runner (the big boss) on "BIG BANG THEORY", Bella Loughborogh who worked as a P.A on DR PHIL for years) As well as some who have become Agents and Managers (Alyssa Van Hoover is now the head assistant at Kim Dawson Agency and Jordan Reynolds is an associate manager at  Mozaic Management in L.A.   Recently, We had Adam Kroennager become a casting director associate at 20th Century Fox and Katie Sarife, one of my former aides is an actress and acting coach. In fact, last weekend- she was flown to New York City to teach a serious class there.

FALL REGISTRATION is September 16th at 1:30pm!!!!

OTHER WORKSHOPS! There are other workshops we will be adding as well. Some of Those are being negotiated right now, but I wanted to get the Class Schedule out now, so those are not set yet. More details on these will be coming including Jennifer who will be teaching Improv Classes, and Mitchell Gossett is considering teaching three 5 hour More that I don't want to give away quite yet.

Former Master Teachers/Master studentTHOMAS MANNandLOGAN MILLER are planning on "giving back" to the studio, and are planning on doing a workshop for us during our Winter/Spring session. They were actually considering doing one THIS session when Thomas booked the starring role in the Live action film "Lady and the Tramp" which is filming in Savannah,Georgia for several months right now.
Exciting, huh?!

UPGRADES AND CHANGES:
1)WE ADDED A MASTER INTENSIVE CLASS FOR HOME SCHOOL STUDENTS
on Tuesday mornings from 10:30-1:30pm!
(We are Only taking 10-12 students for our first Home school Master Intensive EVER for the price of 14 students at this introductory offer at $635.)
2)I WILL TEACH AC 1 AND AC 2 for the first time in years!
3)OUR EQUIPMENT AND STUDIO HAVE HAD A MAKEOVER!
4) Per several of your requests,We have moved ONE of the
HIGH SCHOOL/COLLEGE MASTER CLASSES to Wednesday nightsto give my HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE AGED STUDENTS A CHOICE of either Saturdays or Wednesdays. High School/College Aged Students have a choice now of a 5-7pm Wednesday class or a Saturday 4-6:30pm class.
5)ONE ON ONES- I will have one on ones scheduled for Sunday, October 7th for those of you who want to discuss you or your child with me. Are you wondering how to navigate their career better and need more one on one time to discuss it with me, or want to know how your child is doing specifically and my recommendations to help them? Then, grab a one on one. They will be in 30 minute segments beginning at 10am, Sunday, Oct 7th.

AN INTRODUCTION TO OUR STUDIO FOR OUR NEW PEOPLE: We are always looking for our next big star or working actor. If you think you or someone you love is a candidate for our serious acting studio where actors feel safe and at home, come check us out!

Our studio attracts serious actors and actresses from all over the country and even all over the world and we have never done any advertising in 18 years. Cathryn Sullivan and her studio have been featured in "Good Morning, Texas" Selena Gomez's "E-Hollywood Story" and in Demi Lovato's Mom's book "Falling with Wings" where she is talked about as being a champion to

Demi to help her become a stronger, better actress/person. This program is one that Cathryn developed after being on over 100 sets with her sons and students along with what she learned from professional acting classes. Some of her students have become huge stars like Selena Gmez, Demi Lovato, Hayley Orrantia- The Goldbergs, Thomas Mann- Kong: Skull Island, Me, Earl and the Dying Girl, Lady and the Tramp (He's the star...filming now in Savannah) and many are working actors like Mallory Mahoney- Regular on third season of "Bunk'd", Matt McCann (who is a regular on "Man with a Plan" where he plays Matt LeBlanc's son),
Bryce Gheisar ("Walk the Prank", "Wonder", "A Dog's Purpose"), Bryce Cass who plays 'Cyrus' on "13 Reasons Why" plus the studio boasts of having
4 out of the 5 leads in Facebook Watch's "Skam" including the main star for season 2, Kennedy Hermansen. These students realize that doing this business takes years of dedication and commitment and what we are learning is the "Olympics of Acting".

1)AC classes- Acting for Camera classes are for the 6-9 year olds.
They are for the little actor. Comedy and nurturing their love for creating characters is the goal in these classes.
2)Lower to Intermediate Classes- These are our block classes (from Film 1-Film 6 and New Master 1 and New Master 2 classes). They are the rock solid structure that builds our actors into strong actors and human beings. ALL STUDENTS are required to take these series classes and each one is divided by RANK rather than AGE.
3)Regular Master Classes- Every session, we have a master classes that are grouped by AGE rather then RANK. Each session is new and different and Cathryn Sullivan designs each session to help with whatever the business is trending with right then or whatever she feels like her master students need work on. These classes are around 14 hours with about 21 students each.
4)Master Intensive Classes-These Classes are the ultimate Cathryn Sullivan experience as there are only 14 students in these classes with at least 21 hours per session. Students get many takes and learn close-ups and work on location shoots outside the studio. (Last session, one student got 16 takes on one scene!) The students also have the option to be sent their work by hightail where they can edit the scenes for Instagram/Social Media or reels for their managers/agents.
Master students also go into other lines of work including being agents, Production Crew, Casting directors and more...
This studio produces results! Go towww.cathrynsullivan.comfor more details. Be sure you look at the "Hall of Fame" too while you check it out.

FILM STUDENTS (Students age 10-27)

Film 1
This is where the 9-26 year olds begin. Yes! All students, no matter what age begin with Film 1 with all age groups. Once they are masters, each master group meets with their age group-however until then, they meet by skill level. Believability and being directable is the most important abilities that are worked on in Film 1. They also will build character development skills, work with props and marks while responding to set directions. We simulate real onset location shootings as leads, principals and extras. The students will boost their on-camera skills while using different types of shots (Master shots, Extreme close up, 2-shots, etc).

Film 1 with Ben Sullivan- $359
Friday, Oct. 12th 5p-7p
Saturday, Oct. 13th - Sunday, Oct. 14th 9a-1p

Film 1 with Ben Sullivan- $359
Friday, Nov. 2nd 5p-7p
Saturday, Nov. 3rd - Sunday, Nov. 4th 9a-1p

Film 2/ Film 4
You only get credit for 1 level per series/session

Two levels meet together learning their series, whether it be Film 2 or Film 4 while being in class with the other group. Film 4 is reviewing Film 2 and Film 2 is being able to watch what they are about to get into. Film 2 is all about feeling deep emotions. This class elevates the students' usage in being able to project their extremely emotional scenes. Crying on cue is learned in Film 2. Film 4 is all about Inner monologue.Years ago, several casting director in L.A. asked me to begin teaching this class. They said "Everyone thinks acting is about thelines, and it's not. It's about listening and being effected by what is happening in the scene and processing that". They went on to explain that they have a hard time finding actors who know how to do that. THAT is why Film 4 was designed and why I believe it is probably the most important class I teach. It is also the class taken over and over again. Even Bryce Class, one of my best actors who has ever come out of the studio took Film 4 over as a Master student.

Film 2 / Film 4 (Combo Class)- $389
(You will only receive credit for 1 level. This combo class must be taken twice.)
Thursdays - 5:20p - 7:20p
(Oct. 11th, Oct. 21st, Nov. 1st, Nov. 8th, Nov. 15th, Nov. 29th, Dec. 6th)

Weekend Film 2/Film 4 with LisandraOrtega- $389
(You will only receive credit for 1 level. This combo class must be taken twice.)
Friday, Oct. 26th, 5-7p
Saturday, Oct. 27th - Sunday, Oct. 28th 9a-1:30p

Film 3w/ Ben Sullivan - $359 (A weekend intensive)
The focus on Film 3 is cold-reading skills. You could go into an audition and be asked to read for the "other"character not given to you by your agent that week. One must have really effective cold-reading skills in place to pull that off and Film 3 will help you know how to handle that very situation.

Film 3 with Ben Sullivan- $359
Friday, Oct. 12th 7p-9p
Saturday, Oct. 13th - Sunday, Oct. 14th 2p-6p

Film 3 with Ben Sullivan- $359
Friday, Nov. 2nd 7p-9p
Saturday, Nov. 3rd - Sunday, Nov. 4th 2p-6p

Film 4
-See (Film 2/Film 4 Combo. Both classes are taught at the same time).

Mixed Level Class (Film 5, Film 6, New Master 1, New Master 2)
Film 5, Film 6, New Master 1, New Master 2 are usually in a "Mixed Levels" Class with Cathryn Sullivan. Each student will take a "Mixed Level" Class FOUR times. Each time, the student will concentrate on a different level each time.

Film 5
Students will concentrate on Comedy. Comedy is one of the hardest things to teach and learn. Super funny people must learn how to put their funny personalities into scripts, and it's not as easy as it seems.

Film 6
Students learn how to become characters opposite their personalities. An actor doesn't get to choose what characters they get to play. The auditions are usually for complicated, interesting characters that range from mean girl, bully, nerd to sociopath. Students must be ready to delve into those characters with confidence.

New Master 1begins with the learning of Voice-over work (Slates and ways to be a professional in the VO world is completely different than Film and TV work). After that, we concentrate on physicalcomedy. Physical comedy is some of the hardest things your child will learn using your body to create comedy. They do it everyday in real life, but have trouble learning how to put it in their scenes. We show them the way. We end up New Master 2 with a dramatic monologue.

New Master 2
Up until New master 2, most of our work has been concentrating on very real and believable work studying Oscar winning type performances for onlyFeature film and Network. New master 2 is the first time the studentwill be given the KEY to Booking Disney andNickelodeon series- both for regulars and recurring roles. Disney has a quicker pace with 1/2 second reactions and must be animated, yet real. It is very hard to balance that genre and we have lots of experience in this. Disney stars go on to become something of a staple in the world with everyone looking at what you are doing no matter how old you are. The cameras are always on you during your good and bad days.

Stars who got their start with Disney include an impressive list: :
Selena Gomez (who is now producing shows like "13 Reasons Why"), Demi Lovato (who besides being a Disney star on her own show nabbed a People's choice award for "Favorite TV guest in "Grey's Anatomy" where she played in a very dramatic role that Cathryn coached her on) . Check out season 6,episode "Shiny Happy People".Zak Efron, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Hayden Panettiere, Christina Aguilera, KeriRussell (star of "The Americans"), Anne Hathaway, Miley Cyrus, Paul Walker (of all of those "Fast and Furious) and Academy-nominated RYAN GOSLING all got their start with DISNEY. Yes, their are some that have gone up and down the popular ladder, but once they became Disney people, they are never far off of being observed through amicroscope by the world and doors are opened to Disney Stars that do not open for most of us.That is the truth.

Mixed Levels (Film 5, Film 6, New Master 1, New Master 2)
- $389
(You will only receive credit for 1 level. This class must be taken 4 times.)
Thursdays - 7:20p-9:20p
(Oct. 11th, Oct. 21st, Nov. 1st, Nov. 8th, Nov. 15th, Nov. 29th, Dec. 6th)

Weekend Mixed Levels with Lisandra Ortega (Film 5, Film 6, New Master 1, New Master 2)- $389
(You will only receive credit for 1 level. This class must be taken 4 times and can be taken in conjuncture with the other seven session Mixed level class)
Friday, Oct. 26th, 7-9p
Saturday, Oct. 27th - Sunday, Oct. 28th 2:30-8:15p

Every master class is different than any of the other master classes. Cathryn researches and delves into understanding the most up to date work coming out of Hollywood and what trends are happening that are causing attention. Each master student is expected to have an extremely serious and professional work ethic with choices for their scenes and characters. Many times, students work on Oscar winning movies with scenes that have been edited and developed for more age-appropriate scenes including shows like "La La Land" and Classics like "Primal Fear".Cathryn believes that Young actors are smarter and better than what most people give them credit for and she has been proving that year after year with her Skilled and talented Master Students!

Guess what?!
Registration for Howard Melzter is Saturday, May 26th at 1pm!

Howard Meltzer, one of the busiest kids casting directors in LA, is comingJune 23-24for a workshop!Howard is an award-winning veteran casting director who is known for hit shows he has cast like "Hannah Montana" & "Lab Rats" & many more. We're sooooo excited that Howard can find the time to come to Dallas. Howard has a way of educating the students and parents about auditioning with constructive notes in a kind and loving manner.

Howard also always does the most wonderful parent meeting before the seminar. He provides invaluable information. There is more detail on his lesson plan down below.

There is also a few classes that are open this Summer. We took the waiting list from June and added some classes in July based on those, but now- we have some spots open because of Vacations planned. Take a look at the classes that say "Open" down below. There are a few classes that
Cody Linley is teaching with Carly Studer...both coming in from L.A., -One Middle School Master Intensive and New Classes added with Caleb Pierce, who was on Grey's anatomy and Big Bang Theory this year - both as GUEST-STARRING ROLES! We just added a new Film 2/Film 4 in July as well since both Film 2/Film 4's are full and closed.

There are so many Cathryn Sullivan students coming out in Movies or ON T.V. on shows right now or coming out this summer!! Please go support them all!

Here are a few:
NOAH COTTRELL: Noah plays the son of Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) in "SKYSCRAPER" . It will be coming to theatersJULY 13. Noah has had the time of his life. He was on set in Canada for 4 months, has been doing reshoots and ADR in L.A. this month! (Noah has been a student at the studio for about 4 years & still is, and is repped by Kim Dawson Agency. Dee Ann Vernon negotiated). this cool deal that everyone wanted!
See the cool trailer here:

DEBBY RYANhas a movie out in theater right now called "LIFE OF THE PARTY" with Melissa McCarthy.(Debby's manager is the cool Michael Hepburn. Debbie is right beside Melissa in this trailer).

LOGAN MILLER(former Master teacher/Master student of Cathryn's/ and Is repped by Jennifer Patredis at Innovative)has a really good part in "LOVE, SIMON". It has been in theaters all month and is still in some theaters for now:

BRYCE CASS & ANNIE WINTERS both have recurring roles on "13 REASONS WHY (2nd season)", which is trending right now and a very popular series on NETFLIX! They both have probably the coolest characters of the show this season! Annie has a pivotal role in this series. Bryce has an extremely cool character and is a Premiere student/Master Aide at the studio & has taken from me for about 12 years!
Here is a scene of Bryce's fiesty character (Cyrus) from one of the episodes of "13 Reasons Why" (Season 2): Bryce is in 12 out of the 13 episodes! (I personally have only gotten through till episode 9 and LOOOVE it!)
Bryce is repped by Coast and his manager is Trevor at Anonymous.Annie Winters is repped by
Here is the trailer to it for season 2:

Below is fan art drawn by someone in France for Bryce Cass's Character. Anne Winters won an Daytime Emmy for her show "Zac & Mia", but she is also in "13 Reasons Why". She is busy!

MALLORY MAHONEY (CS Premiere Student who is even coming back to class this summer during hiatus) is a Regular on the newest season of "BUNK'D" scheduled to come out on Disney onJune 18th!

Mallory Mahoney & I (Mallory is a regular in the upcoming "Bunk'd" Season 3 coming out on DISNEYJune 18th).

Mallory was found by Dee Ann Vernon at Kim Dawson agency & co-reps Mallory.

Both KENNEDY HERMANSEN & SHELBY SURDAM (both Premiere Students) can be found (as one of the 5 leads) on "SKAM" , A Facebook Watch Series they film in Austin.
You can find them at:

Kennedy is repped by Mitchell Gossett (as a manager) and CESD/ & Dawson & Shelby is repped by Kim Dawson Agency. Both girls are KD kids.

If you weren't made to "Fall in Line", then Pro Master StudentDEMI LOVATO's new song that came out this week (along with a cool video) is for YOU! I am so proud of her work. I think Demi's acting in all of her videos are far superior to almost every other singing artists in the music world.
Check out her new video with Cristina Aguiler "Fall In Line". The new music video just came out yesterday and it already has over 2 million 500,000 views!:

(I had Demi and her sister, Dallas for almost six years and they were both in the Pro Master Class, the only class that remained in my living room over many years. Her Momma recently did a Parent Seminar for the studio in March when her book came out. The book is called "Falling With Wings" by Dianna de la Garza and Dianna has written a lot aboutmein the book. #SoProudandHonored ).

One of our AC students has a recurring role on Season 3 of "QUEEN OF THE SOUTH". CAMILLA CARREON has been a recur on that show for 3 seasons. The new season just came out this week.

I have to brag a bit about Alex Alford/Zak Denley's film they made, especially since he started back in the day with Director Class here at the Studio. The directors, the stars, even the adults in this film are Cathryn Sullivan Students and they keep winning awards at various film festivals.
The latest win was at The Nashville Film Festival where they won the Young Filmmaker's Grand Jury Prize at Nashville Film Festivalwhich included $20,000. scholarship.
Zak Denly & Alex Alford (Premiere Student) are the co-directors of the film "Hitchiker's Guide to Suburbia". Trevor Douglas, Alexandria Bryant are leads in the film and Lauren Stephenson is also in the film.
All of the above students are with Kim Dawson.

Well, it's time for YOU to make some things happen too!
You can Start by getting serious about the craft of acting this summer. It's never too late to become more dedicated!

We are about to have a wonderful summer and don't forget to sign up for the Howard Meltzer workshopthis Saturdayat 1pm! There are also a few classes that are not full that you can take advantage of.

Cathryn Sullivan

Hi Actors and Actresses and Parents who love them!

What a fabulous, wonderful session we have had! We have enjoyed this session so much & are so invigorated by the creativity & growth that has been happening at our studio already in 2018!

All of the hard work of my students this session was reflected by how amazing the students performed during the Big Workshop a few weeks ago with
Rich Delia/Jennifer /Michael Hepburn & Brandi George.  I was so proud of how wonderful my students performed and how well they took the direction.

SUCH A COMPLIMENT TO THE STUDIO!
When  Rich Delia , who is probably the busiest casting director in the industry left for the airport on Sunday night after watching my students' work all weekend, he said "Your studio & students were so inspiring!   Thank you!"  I was so honored... TO BE THANKED BY THIS MAN FOR WATCHING MY STUDENTS & HELPING US WITH NOTES?!" I couldn't believe what I was hearing!  I was so touched!  Also, when speaking about one of my Premiere girls, he said  " Oh, THAT girl might get her first movie and win an Oscar with it. She's THAT good !"
I literally thought I was living a dream right then!  (Squel!)

THANK YOU, STUDENTS & PARENTS! --So THANK YOU, Students for believing in yourselves, working hard & being able to come through with flying colors when it mattered!
I was super proud of you guys!
Thank you, Parents too -for:
1) Believing in your Actor/Actress  & 2) For Helping support & make the best scenario  for your child so that they are able to learn from the Best of the Best!
It takes a solid team to make a successful Actor and with the wonderful agents here in town and L.A., You as Parents who want to do what best for your dreamer/Actor, and US at the studio making sure they are growing as artists- With all of us, We have put together a solid & Successful DREAM TEAM! I look forward to many more success stories this year.

Said one email I got from a Mom "
It never ceases to amaze me, the truly exceptional opportunities you offer your students to learn from the very best in the industry - right here at their home studio! What an incredible blessing to work with such esteemed industry guests.
My daughter would not have the chance to meet and work with Rich, Michael, Jennifer and Brandi  anywhere else - and to think she had the benefit of their experience, knowledge and expertise all in one day -- WOW! We are so grateful for your generosity, and dedication to your students and their families. Thanks again for an amazing day!"

Michael Hepburn (far left) is one of my favorite managers in L.A. He has made stars out of some of my fav students including Thomas Mann, Debby Ryan and Bryce Gheisar.
Dee Ann Vernon (next to he and me) is the Director of Kids, Teens and Young Adult Talent at the Kim Dawson Agency. We work closely together to raise stars. We are kind of the Mommies of the Stars. Not pictured is Diana Dyer from the Campbell Agency. I love that agency so much. Elle Jerrier is the latest booking on a movie that we both share. Diana is on the other side of Michael & the photographer didn't get her. :(  Next to me on the other side is Jennifer, who is an L.A. agent. She started out at the Kim Dawson agency, was invited to work at C.E.S.D. and then, was stolen by another agency because she is THAT good! Rich Delia Rich Delia's resume' (at the end of the table) is  probably one of the busiest Casting directors in the world. He was one of the most elegant, helpful, kind industry guests we have ever had. He said our studio and my students were "inspiring"!

OUR EXCITING SUMMER SCHEDULE! It's going to be the best Summer ever! We have some of your favorites with some upgraded factors, AND we also have a Brand NEW class that is going to be awesome!
Registration will be this Sunday, April 29th at 1:30pm.
(Mark your calendars!)

WE UPGRADED THE "CUSTOMIZED MASTER INTENSIVE CLASSES" & Made them with longer hours and Add-ons!

Yes! I have added an  extra 3-4 hours  to the Master Intensives with only a $10. dollar amount, so that we can incorporate exercises that help my students with creativity, and to where we can also get at least two scenes finished with work on  close-ups during this exciting session! It will be customized so that each student can work on the types of characters and genre they are going out for or what they need to work on as an actor to grow.

Also, All Master Intensives will be divided by age so that the younger ones are offered a class that is age-appropriate & the older students can explore the kind of scripts that are expected of them in an environment where they don't have to worry about young ears.

We also have some exciting Add-ons that will be available if you take the Customized Master Intensive Class INCLUDING:
1) YES! We are going to email each student a copy of their original work/scenes/exercises sent to you by hightail from your week of work!!  if you want that add-on.
2) Another add-on that will be available: If you or your child wants lunch/dinner, we will get that for you as an add on of about $8.50 a day during classes that are around food-time OR you can opt to bring a sack lunch for the student. We ask that all vegetarians, vegans and my students who have allergies to bring their own lunch because we do not have the capacity to create special dishes. Our Lunches are come from Chickfil-a, Dairy Queen, Domino's and Subway.

We have a brand new class:  "FILM-MAKING BOOT CAMP:SCRIPT TO SCREEN & EVERYTHING INBETWEEN!" that will include an IMDb Credit!
Shaun Cunningham and I have come up with the best class EVER!!! I am so excited about this class. It is expensive though. We have hired a professional sound guy, lighting guy and we have the award-winning director/director of photographer Shaun Cunningham heading up this project. It's called "SCRIPT TO SCREEN AND EVERYTHING INBETWEEN".

Here are the details: We are only taking twelve students. We will divide them into two casts of six.  One group will act while the other group is the "crew". Every student will learn everything it takes to be behind the camera and in front of the camera.

Shaun & I plan to write the short film or mini-pilot around the cast. The students will be in front of the camera and obtain an IMDB credit (subject to approval by IMDB). Each day will be full of wisdom.   We will teach the students the Development preproduction portion with objective setting, directing examples, role assignment & script review and analysis. The Sound overview will be with a profession sound guy who will teach us all how to use body microphones as well as how to hold & work the boom microphone as well as the soundboard. There will be the Production planning day where we plan and break the script into shot sheets & how to break the script into shot sheets.. We will have a rehearsal day, a time to learn the editing process (which will include Basic editing, workflow, color correction and grading and the 3 cardinal sins that will get you fired).  There are  TWO full SHOOT DAYS! (At least 8 hours long).   We will be doing all of this in a week! JUNE 26-30th.
I'm super excited about this class!

See the credits for our director of photography and the master teacher of this class:
Shaun Cunningham's resume' and our sound guy  Steven McRoberts
There are more in-depth details down below under "Summer Class Schedule".

WE HAVE SOME EXCITING WORKSHOPS COMING UP!
Our next big workshops are coming up which include a studio favorite June 23-24 with
Casting director HOWARD MELTZER along with our local agents Dee Ann Vernon from
Kim Dawson Agency & Diana Dyer from Campbell Agency. You can see Howard's resume here Howard Meltzer IMDb credits Howard has won 3 times and nominated 11 times for Artios awards (which is like the Oscar for Casting directors). I met this wonderful man years ago on the set of "Hannah Montana" where he cast my son as Jake Ryan when Cody Linley was just 15 years old. He has been a wonderful teacher to my students as well as a guide to me.
I love him!

We also have some Disney classes to help film students know what to do at that workshop coming up AND we have a Disney Review Specialty Class for Master students who need a Review Class to be the right amount of sharp/animated/flip-flop crisp Disney!

Also,on July 28-29, Producer/Casting Director  JOEY PAUL JENSEN, Manager MITCHELL GOSSETT as well as our local Agents from Kim Dawson Agency, Campbell Agency & Louisiana/Atlanta Agents from Landrum Arts (Dawn & George Landrum).
THOSE WORKSHOPS ARE NOT AVAILABLE TO SIGN UP FOR during this first registration. We will get you details about each of them in a few weeks.

THESE WORKSHOPS ARE NOT OPEN FOR REGISTRATION YET.

CODY LINLEY IS COMING MID-JULY! Cody is teaching some of your favorite classes as well as a new called "One-Man Show" which helps you learn how to do a One-man show or One-Woman show. I am super excited about this class! I am actually going to L.A. in May to see Cody's own One-Man Show! See his resume' here: Cody Linley's resume'

THE STUDIO IS SPONSORING A WEDNESDAY'S CHILD! You might have seen us on Wednesday's Child a few weeks ago on WFAA. Wednesday's Child, Serenity wants to be a director, so they called me to see if I knew any directors. I said "I know an award-winning director" & Shaun Cunningham was kind enough to move around his schedule to help make this girl's dreams come true. We used the Studio to show Serenity the first steps in becoming a director. Shaun even edited it and sent it to her so she would have her first "mini-film" using students Bryce Gheisar (from Disney's "Walk the Prank", "Wonder", etc) and Master Student/Aide Emma Lou Cunningham.  Also, Serenity was given a scholarship to come to any acting class she wants to attend to help make her dreams come true. She has already started, and was in  Film 1 this past weekend and had a great time learning. I saw her in the hall working on her lines.  It was so fulfilling!

Serenity (in Red) is learning the first steps to becoming a director.

The Parent Workshop was a huge success! Dianna de la Garza, Demi Lovato's momma had so many insights for Parents raising an artists on things she did right and things she did wrong. She was so kind. She stayed to sign every single book and talk in length to every single person who waited in line to get her advice. What a sweet Mom!

Dianna de la Garza & Cathryn Sullivan produced a Parent Workshop.
It was fun
 & Informative.

What a fun SUMMER 2018 we have planned!! Please see our complete class listing below.

I am looking forward to watching all of my students grow this Summer!

Passionately,
Cathryn Sullivan

FILM MAKING BOOTCAMP - JUNE 26-30!!!! $1100
We have an exciting new class: FILMMAKERS BOOTCAMP: Taking students from script to screen and everything in between. Includes IMDb credit for each student!

I am super excited to offer this unique and specialized class for the very first time. Students taking this class will learn how to produce, direct and shoot a short film/video, working together both in front of and behind the camera.

Students will learn what it takes to get a project off the ground, starting with a script and finishing with an IMDb-approved short film or video which they will perform, produce, shoot and direct together. (5-7 minute video project).

Students will learn:

  • How to analyze a script from a director's perspective and break it down for principal photography
  • Principles of directing: The directors role, what is expected of them and how to go about it
  • What camera angles and movements are used in TV and film and how to apply them to the bootcamp script, ready to be filmed
  • Principles of Photography: How to set up and use a camera to shoot narrative TV and film
  • How to make creative decisions behind the camera to make sure that the captured footage serves the script and tells the story in the most effective way
  • Principles of Sound: How to separate and manage sound and video. How to mic up actors and capture sound to a professional recording device
  • Principles of Editing: How to create an editing timeline as well as color correction and grading using vector scopes and waveform monitors and how to avoid the "three cardinal sins of editing" that will get you fired on network TV and studio movies.

Working together as a production cast and crew, once the students have developed everything needed to shoot the video, they will put all their learning into "ACTION" with TWO FULL DAYS of shooting (at least 8 hours).

During the bootcamp, students will take on roles such as director, assistant director, director of photography, sound operator, script supervisor and actors. There will be pre-production sessions, script reviews and table reads, actor rehearsals, shoot planning and scheduling and all the chaos of a real production!

By the end of the bootcamp, students will have created all the footage required to pass to post-production for editing (which will be completed after the bootcamp) and the final video will be available online a few weeks later. Students will earn an IMDb credit for their work on the video, subject to IMDb's approval.

I appreciate this is a high dollar class but it includes three coaches with public profiles and track records. I'm not aware of any other acting studio offering its students the opportunity to go through a filmmakers bootcamp led by an award-winning filmmaker. Master coach is Shaun Peter Cunningham from Picto Films (www.pictofilms.com). Shaun has over 80 IMDb credits and many of my students and their parents have seen his work, and several know what it's like to work with him. (Five of my students won awards at the 2017 Los Angeles Independent Film Awards in one of Shaun's projects).

Joining Shaun, is professional sound recordist, Steven McRoberts, who will be mentoring students before and during the shoot, and I will be coaching actors as well as sharing my own experience of being on hundreds of professional sets.

Don't miss this rare opportunity to attends the Filmmakers Bootcamp. June 26-30th.

Do you have a story to tell or a one-person show idea? Would you like to?

This course will help artists find their truth through personal or fictional storytelling. Actors will not only discover where the stories live in them, but will also be given the tools to turn them into dramatically compelling solo pieces. This is your chance to take that broken heart, and turn it into art, and to give yourself a chance to show the world what you have in your own voice, through your own words.

Your story is workshopped and developed into a monologue, based on a theme and becomes a performance for showcasing your talent to prospective agents, mangers, or family and friends. Each student will leave this course with a video they can post on YouTube & social media, as well as, a piece they can expand into a solo show or short film.

Step into the driver seat of your own career by developing material that showcases your talents, characters & story-telling abilities. The skills you learn in Making Your One-Man Show will help you grow in all areas of your acting work, because once you can effectively tell your own story, you can tell anyone's.

Cody Linley says about his new class:

"Do you want to be able to play extreme characters opposite of yourself truthfully? The tools you will receive in this class will teach you to build characters actively while in a creative flow state allowing more depth in your work than ever before. When we learn to trust our body and it's emotions, rather than only using our mind to create a character, magic happens. You will transform yourself into the complexity of your character's body using tools such as: animal studies, nature's elements (earth, water, fire, & air), and character adjectives. All the answers you need as an actor to build a truthful and powerful character for Film, & T.V. will be revealed. We will start with the neutral mask and end with a final performance.

This class will teach you how to build such rich characters that you will walk, talk, and think as your character.Through improv, jury & other transformational exercises, you will discover why your character is the way they are. Once you are done exploring, you will shake it out and discuss what you learned through the embodiment exercises. This is a very special & safe way to play extreme characters & create nuance in your performances. It's unlocked a new dimension in my own work that I'm so excited about. This acting approach is extremely enjoyable, intuitive, unique & will give you more confidence in the audition room & on set, because you will be the expert on your character! Those who have taken this class can certainly take it again, to receive new & more enhanced tools!

Sharing what I've learned as an actor is such an amazing gift and I'm so grateful for each and everyone of my students! I look forward to working with you each of your specific individual needs."

Testimonial:
"His class helps you to understand what it means to be in the character's shoes. Just do these exercises and you'll become the character. I gained a lot of knowledge into the secret mind of my character. It was inspiring and fun!"
-Camryn Jones (Recently filmed the pilot Steps and has been seen on ABC's "The Mayor" & more)

Testimonial:
The five layers of the character were especially helpful in "getting out my brain and into the body" and it helped me get right into character. That technique is certainly something I will do with every scene I do from here on out.
-Sean-Michael Pigeon (College student at Yale and Premiere student)

This summer we are offering Improv skill development courses. Come to class and build characters through improv. Have fun, work as a team and bring high stakes energy in your scenes. Improv challenges the artist and gives them the ability to not only act, but, write, direct and edit in the moment with their peers. For ages 13 + we have an all new long form (Harold) Improv course where students in addition to playing Improv games and exercises will work together based off a theme and will create a three act, twenty five minute improvised show with a group!

From Ella's Momma, "Ella said her training with you really prepared her well. Back about a year and a half ago, I asked these girls to get together and come up with a song to rock out to for Jennifer (an L.A. Agent) when she came to do a workshop. Fast forward a year and a half, The girls put together "NotUrGirlfrenz" and look at them NOW!  They just got back from a five day, five city tour with "Bowling for Soup".  They have been invited to the
WARPED TOUR in July. They are Gigi Haynes (left), Liv Hayens (middle) & Maren Alford (right). I'm so proud of them! They made their opportunities work for them.

For me, it is such a pleasure to watch my babies grow strong as individuals and as actors!
This is Kiko Munroy at 5 years old (above) and at age 13 (down below).
This was my Wednesday night Master Intensive Group Winter/Spring 2018 which has a lot of
My aides in it (Lisandra, Lauren, Lydia  & Jaren are IN the class).
Jacqueline comes from Houston every week for this class.
Tyler & Mason come from Shreveport,Louisiana.
It was one of my All-time Favorite Classes I have ever had- as these students did      outstanding, risky, unbelievable work that will stay in my head Forever! I love each of them!

Hi Actors and Actresses and Parents who love them!

What a fabulous, wonderful session we are having! My aides and I are enjoying this session so much. We are so invigorated by the creativity that is happening at our studio!

AND Our next big workshop is coming up April 7-8th. Please read this in it's entirety as it contains important information.

I can not tell you how excited I am about this workshop! We have some of the smartest, brightest, best & most happening people in the business coming to do a workshop at the studio APRIL 7-8th

RICH DELIA, who is the casting director of "It", "Dallas Buyer's Club" & "Help" has cast over 20 MORE projects since "It". He is possibly one of the hottest  Casting directors in L.A. He is so busy that ALL of us worked our schedule around when he could come to Texas. He's that cool! See his IMDB page: Rich Delia's IMDB page
MICHAEL HEPBURN has been probably one my favorite managers of all time because he guides the career of My students Bryce Gheisar, Debby Ryan and Thomas Mann. I've seen him do things for Bryce's career that has not been done for any other Disney star while they are a regular on a show. I've seen him set up coffee's with potential directors with his clients when the director was only rumored to get a particular movie-- before the director became attached to a certain movie.
He's just so pro-active. It  has been very impressive to watch!

Brand New!** BRANDI GEORGE is a Senior Account Executive at Advantage PR (She's a Publicist) and will do one session on P.R., when to hire a publicist and why, what to expect when you become a star, how to handle the public including reporters, How to handle Red Carpet, She is offering parent training on PR, covering topics like: interviewing skills, social media training tips, what a publicist does vs. what they don't do for you, how to handle overzealous fans in person and online, how to be professional without looking over-polished,etc. Brandi will have a Parent Workshop on Sunday, April 8th at 1pm where you will be able to ask her all types of questions concerning P.R. Look for it.  I can not tell you how many times I hear from Students and their Moms wishing they took a workshop like this before everything in their life got so crazy as they became a star or working actor!

ALSO, Local Agents DEE ANN VERNON from the Kim Dawson Agency and DIANA DYER from the Campbell Agency will also be in attendance for this cool workshop. (Barbara Blanchette has retired).

Registration for this big workshop is going to be at 10:30amthis Saturday,March 10th!

ALSO,  PICK OUT SCRIPT DAY AND a BUFF-UP NIGHT is included in the price of the workshop.

Pick-out Script Day is where you can come and look at all kinds of scripts from our files to find the perfect script. Picking out the right script is mega-important.

Buff-up night happens the week BEFORE the workshop where you can firm up your scene with an aide and then- Cathryn to make sure you are ready for anything! You have a choice of 3 different nights- April 3, April 4 or April 5th. We are at the studio sometimes in the wee hours just making sure each student feels comfortable the week before the workshop.
It is a labor of love that my aides and I totally enjoy!

What a fun Spring 2018 we have planned!!

We also are announcing a "Most Levels" workshop the weekend of April 27, 28, & 29th that will only include 18 students. This weekend workshop will include those who are needing
Film 2, Film 5, Film 6, New Master 1, and New Master 2 & Out of Town Masters. It is literally all of the lower and intermediate levels except Film 1, Film 3 and Film 4.
April 27 6-8pm
April 28 9:30-1:30
April 29 9:30am-1:30pm
Snacks included for Saturday & Sunday.
$389.

There are about 3-4 spots left in the DIANNA DE LA GARZAParent workshop happening Sunday, March 18th at 1:30pm.Dianna's book came out today "Falling with Wings" and there is a whole article about her book (including pictures of her girls) in "People" magazine this week (The one with Oprah on the front). Entertainment Tonight and many other big magazines and TV shows are highlighting her book. WE get her here for 4 hours cuz I booked her before anyone else knew this was even happening!! She is a lovely person. You should come and meet her. #WeAreLUCKY

I am looking forward to all of the excitement that follows when these fun, cool & powerful people come to our studio!

Details on  Dianna De La Garza's Parent Seminar happening on Sunday, March 18th! (Ages 13 & Up) Dianna is Demi Lovato's mother and has a book coming out today, March 6th called ""Falling with Wings: A Mother's Story".
Cathryn taught Demi for almost six years in class and had her in privates.  "I love this family. They really are an inspiration" Cathryn Says.  Check out more about it in this week's PEOPLE MAGAZINE (dated March 12, 2018) as Dianna is featured in People about her book.
WE get her for almost 4 hours! Bring your questions and bring your child if they are 13 and up.

Remember, there will be a lot of talk that the younger ones won't understand, so if you bring your child, understand we will be talking about serious subjects including drugs and mental illness.  We are going to be real honest here! Guiding a star and artist is hard. Why not get tips from those who have been there!

DIANNA DE LA GARZA's Big Parent Workshop is happening
Sunday, March 18th from 1:30pm-5 or 5:30pm. (Ages 13 and up only)

Dianna Option 1:
For two people in the same family, it will $85.
($25. discount if you come as Parent and Teen or with 2 Parents)

Dianna Option 2:

Dianna will be talking about what it is like to be the mother of three daughters who do this business. Demi Lovato is the one most of you know, but her youngest daughter, Madison De La Garza was on "Desperate Housewives" playing Eva Longoria's daughter for many years as well! Her other daughter, Dallas Lovato is a big voice-over talent and is also an acting coach.

Dianna has a book coming out March 6th Called: "Falling with Wings: A Mother's Story" and will be all over doing book signings in March and April including place like the Grove for her book. I booked her way in advance and WOO HOO! We get her here during her book tour, except she is giving a PARENT WORKSHOP. She and I will give a presentation and then, there will be Questions and Answer Period and even A book Signing time!

Hi Actors and Actresses and Parents who love them!

I am so pleased to have my first newsletter in 2018 be
about my current students bookings as well as
Cathryn Sullivan Alumni who have Big Movies and  Popular T.V. shows coming out this year 2018!

Some of my alumni have taken prestigious Production positions
(Like Associate to the Head Show-runner on the Biggest TV show)
and some have decided to become Anchors at News stations
in the Far North of our Country or Teach Acting in a
Middle School.
See these stories under:
"Bookings & Cathryn Sullivan Alumni" Section down below.

The new schedule for Winter/Spring Session is out.
Registration will be this Saturday, Feb 3 at 10am

I will be holding one on one sessions on the Friday before classes begin (Friday, Feb 9 from 9am-6pm). These are meetings I hold
in 30-minute segments to discuss you or your child.
If you are out of town & want a one on one with me, you can
come in and talk in person, or skype with me if you live 4-13 hours away.

There is a "Cutomized Middle School Master Intensive"
this Session In the 5-7pm spot on Tuesdays with NINE classes
instead of SEVEN classes
(12 students instead of 21 students/ 21-22 hours instead of 14 hours)

For the first time, we will have a "Customized Middle School Master" Class on Tuesday nights with fewer students and more hours.
This will give my MSM students more one on one time.
There will be More rehearsal time, More character & scene analysis,
all types of takes (Master, Close-ups, Two-shots, etc).
There will be some location shooting as well, so the
students can work in real set circumstances.
This class begins Tuesday, February 13th.
THIS is the class I would want MY child in!

Another "Customized Middle School Master Intensive"
will be meeting together on Saturday mornings
along with"The Double Credit Mixed Level"
(FILM 5, FILM 6, NEW MASTER 1 & NEW MASTER 2)
This class will take 12 students only.

Only TWELVE students will be accepted for this class.
Again, more one on one time will be available for my masters
and two levels can be received by my Mixed level students
who are taking this Double Mixed Level Class.

For example: If you are a film 5 student now, you can take this class and get your Film 6 and New Master 1 level class done in Seven weeks. You can also take New master 2 and a Master class in this class! Two Mixed level classes cost approx. $778.
With this class, it costs $625. & will only have 12 students in the class.

Middle School Master Students will have priority when signups
happen for this class as long as they sign up within the first 30
minutes of signups.
If you want this class- Masters will have first shot at it, but keep in
mind-there are two other Middle School Master Classes available to you.

There will be More one on one time with lots of character and scene analysis and Lots of rehearsal, and lots of different types of shots including master shots, closeups and two shots.
We will probably have on-location shooting as well!

WEEKEND WORKSHOPS! There are weekend workshops for
every level for those of you who are coming from out of town-
both for Masters, Mixed Levels (Film 5, Film 6, New Master 1
and New Master 2) and even Lower Level (Film 1, Film 2, Film 3 & Film 4 ).

There is a writer who is a Faith-Based writer who interviewed me
& asked me about me and my work. It has already been in one
magazine (See below) and the article is also scheduled to come
out in "Texas Lifestyle Magazine" on February 26th.

*****EXCITING NEWS!!
DEMI LOVATO'S MOM IS COMING TO THE STUDIO MARCH 18th
For a Parent Seminar that will also include ages 14 and up!
Dianna De La Garza will be coming to the Studio March 18th!
This is so exciting! so SAVE THAT DATE!

Dianna is Demi Lovato's Momma. Demi started out by booking her first Disney show called "As the Bell Rings" after a coaching session with me.  It was quite the unusual coaching session which makes for a fun story with a dramatic, happy comeback end. Fast forward a few years where she had a Starring role on a Disney show & Had "Camp Rock" out which made her a huge star.  She then began trying to balance TV work and Music.  She also took time to take a serious role on
"Grey's Anatomy" which landed her a People's Choice award.
Demi is  known in almost every country for her music, and she is a role model for girls of all ages- especially those with body issues.

I am deeply proud of what she has done with her career and how she has helped others learn from her own issues. I am proud of her AND her mother, who mothered her through all of the things that a Star must go through.

Dianna is also Madison De La Garza's mom (who was Eva Longoria's
child for several years on  TV show "Desperate Housewives").

Dianna is also Dallas Lovato's Mom. Dallas has has done loads of cartoon voice-over work as well as indie films.

Dianna and I have a long family history together and she has written a
book that is slated to come out March 6th. She SAYS I am talked about a lot in her book, so I can't wait to see what it says!!
Dianna will be teaching a parent seminar for us on March 18th.
More details will be coming soon.
Ages 14 and up are also invited. #Excited
It won't be available on the Feb 3rd Sign-up day, but more details will be coming soon.

SPRING BREAK CLASSES! I also will have Spring Break Classes
up soon as well. Those will become available in a few weeks, so save a spot for classes at the studio.
Cody Linley is on hold for a movie that is shooting all the way up until
the week before Spring Break, so we will be seeing what dates he is available for classes during Spring Break. He assures he will be here- at least part of the week, so hang on and save the week!

PLEASE KEEP YOUR CHILD HOME IF THEY ARE SICK!  I remember

one time, 3 out of 4 of my sons were sick and I had to forego the swimming
lessons that I had already paid for. I knew I wasn't going to get my money
back because I had to cancel last minute. It's a bummer, but if you pay for a
class and your child is sick or has fever, they are not allowed at the studio?
Why is it ok to bring your child to infect others?! I am sad that I even have to put this in my upbeat newsletter, but since there have been several incidents lately, It must be said.

Make the class up on a different day if you are in the weekly classes.

TRUE TRIVIA ON "HATERS":Recently, I had some Moms tell me that I had a "Hater" they had met who told them that she doubted that I ever hadSelena GomezorDemi Lovatoas a student. I didn't even know this person who was talking about me so authoritatively. It made me laugh.
I had Demi almost six years as a student, and I had Selena for 3 1/2 years. I had them both in privates and in classes.
They are very special to me & were
two of my very first group of stars that came out of the studio along with my own son, Cody Linley. My first stars
were Disney Stars, but that was only the beginning.
I told them to tell the hater to check out Selena Gomez's E-Hollywood Story where they would see me. I was one of the three people Selena asked to be on that show- since she felt like we were the three who attributed the most to her success. (Watching that E-Hollywood story made me assess my weight and was the beginning of my determination towards weight loss).
Demi Lovato's Mom wrote a book that will be out March 6th. She says I am in that book quite a bit, AND she is coming to the studio March 18th to give a Parent Workshop to
ages 14 and over.
MORAL TO THE STORY:
Even acting coaches have haters.
Selena has haters.
Demi has haters.
Even Cody has haters.
I believe that:
Everyone who is Anyone has HATERS!

It is Owned by Verizon and the first season has had GREAT reviews. In September 2018, the Universal Pictures studio film "NIGHT SCHOOL" with Kevin Hart, Tiffany Haddish will be coming out in theaters.

Cathryn! Just had to tell you it could not be going better on Greys.
I was told Ellen Pompeo who's directing the episode, after one of my
scenes with the other guy leaned over to producers and told them
"These boys are killing it. If there's one thing I know how to do, it's cast
actors!"

It is comments like that that make me so thankful for the training, dedication

and drive you have for your students. Thanks for all the countless times you flew in top agents and casting directors so that when we were ready, we'd be prepared to SOAR in LA. I feel like I can hold my own on a set and it's one of the best feelings ever!

If you got wait-listed within the first ten minutes of registration!-

If you got wait-listed within the first ten minutes of registration for the Mitchell Gossett workshop and you qualified (which means: you are in a class this Fall session-either in a weekend intensive or the weekly classes) we are going to try and make it up to you. If your registration is time-stamped between1pm-1:10pm, we are going to let you be one of the first to sign up for "The Amazing Josh and Kate workshop".

Just email 4classreg@gmail.com and in the subject line put: "Registered in the FIRST10" and explain who you are (Or who your child is), you can request your preference for that workshop, and we will email you back as we try to get you into the appropriate class and here is the catch: You must email us this in the next two days, before 11pm Central time on November 6th.

Question: But why did my child get wait-listed?!

Answer:We had so many people register for this workshop, It was crazy. It took my registration manager and her aide twelve hours each to process all of the registration in a fair way with us trying to decide the most fair way for students to get spots in this MG workshop.

Mitchell is such a dynamic speaker, so charismatic and one of the best teachers we've ever had at the studio EVER.

In One of the six sessions, 43 people signed up for middle school master students within the first few minutes! I can only take 22 students per session for a workshop. The master students who did not get into the Saturday Mitchell Gossett/David Doan/Melissa Berger Workshop got first pick for the Sunday session with Mitchell Gossett/ David Doan, the spot that was suppose to be for Film 2-Film 5.

We had to sacrifice the spot meant for Film 2-Film 5, but It's only fair! Masters will always get priority at my studio since they have worked harder and longer on their skills than any of the lower level students, however I know it hurts not to be allowed to be in a workshop that was that important. That is why we are giving you a chance to sign up for the next workshop ahead of time by following the directions located above in this section.
